I’d take any advice in this with a grain of salt, since Thiel was recently revealed to have dual citizenship in New Zealand and is building a kind of “escape the coming apocalypse” bunker-estate there.
Then there’s his interest in longevity treatments involving infusions of blood from young people.
I’d rather not learn how to become a Sith, if it’s all the same to you.

well about the bunker, maybe you should read up on what’s going on in the world. Longevity treatments? He has money and is using every way that he can think of to live longer, good for him.

Don’t listen to that guy, he is jealous of Thiel’s success I bet. This is one of the best business books of all time as it touches the topic of competition and how to avoid it by being innovative and creative when coming up with your service or product or invention so if you want to build your own business or join a startup this is perfect to understand how innovative business works in real life practice.

Thiel’s business acumen may be second to none, but the man himself is human garbage. Cruel, petty, vindictive and just generally a real jerk.

Note about Thiel’s arguments: he suggests that you should avoid competition by innovating and creating something “new”, even though literally everything he’s ever done has been built on the shoulders of someone else. That being said, his argument is that by creating something new, you enjoy patent or other protection, a concept which is protected - by force - by government regulation, a thing he disdains - unless it’s helping him and preventing competition.
