Wonderful to learn how the prophecies of the OT about the messiah were appropriated and subsumed by the intellectually superior Roman emperors (Trajan et al who threw Christians into the arena) to produce the world’s largest belief system. Who knew?

I should have seen it. Entirely obvious that the polytheistic Roman emperors would create a monotheistic religion that emphasized qualities they abhorred and whose followers they persecuted. They could really hide their plans!

What a ridiculous premise. But I suppose if you start from a bedrock unquestionable dogmatic assumption that Christianity is a false belief then you need some alternative explanation for its origins.
