The codebreakers at Bletchley Park have been immortalised in films such as The Imitation Game and Enigma, but the Germans were also breaking Allied ciphers. The Third Reich Is Listening is the comprehensive account of the successes, failures and science of Germany’s codebreaking and signals intelligence operations from 1935 to 1945.
This fast-moving blend of modern history and popular science is told through colourful personal accounts of the Germans at the heart of the story, including a former astronomer who worked out the British order of battle in 1940, a U-boat commander on the front line of the Battle of the Atlantic and the woman from the foreign ministry decrypting Japanese and Italian signals.
It investigates how and why a regime as technologically advanced as the Third Reich both succeeded and failed in its battle to break their enemy’s codes and to use the resultant intelligence effectively, and why they failed to recognise the fact that the Allies had cracked the enigma code.

I remember meeting with middle-aged Germans in the 1970s who were still in denial about how thoroughly their codes had been broken and their spy network rolled up. (Of course, in the 1970s even I hadn’t realised just how extensive this was).
This promises to be a fascinating read, and a lesson in how an entire nation can slip down the rabbit-hole.

As I once said to a German code breaker, ZKELG EOFSA PEOQS DKETS XOQPS BMOZP LSPCC.
Golly, did we laugh over that one.

Hi superclive. Have around 2k of ww2 history books (1900ish) and have finished chapterizing about 700 of them.

As I said if you could share some more of your books that would be brilliant,
Thanks friend.

Right. Two questions please:
1) Does it matter much what trackers I add? e.g. the ones I added to this one, are those okay? Not asking to check one-by-one, just a general opinion
2) If I start to upload books it would not be considered spamming or anything like that?
3) Does it make sense to upload “by subject” or “by author” or single-book torrents are better?

Yeah. That’s three…

@kyanzes
I mean, it was April fools, you had an easy out there

I’m not kidding. The main issue is creating all the torrents. And then, I was wondering if it would make sense to create packs.
And I hate to share non-chapterized material (but I do have about 700 chapterized as in this torrent).
I’ll think of something.
