OMG Jodindy I had to come back and say thank you. I had never read Vera Caspary, never seen the movie Laura … Pulp isn’t even a favorite genre of mine.
But the quality of the writing here shattered me.
Never less than sharp, literary in many places, with lots profound observations on human nature lurking beneath the polish.
And I love the way it starts slow then builds momentum. I had to cancel plans today because with an hour left to finish I couldn’t hear to hit pause and return later!)
Now to find the ebook so I can save my favorite quotes …And to listen to your other Vera Caspary upload, of course, but I am almost afraid to … This was such a gem from start to finish, I wouldn’t want this author’s lesser works to dilute my appreciation.

I doubt Vera Caspary thought she was writing a masterpiece of fiction or it would be made into an ageless movie. When asked to set-up security questions for an online account, guess what my favorite movie is…..J
