Where the Red Fern Grows is a beloved classic that captures the powerful bond between man and man’s best friend.
Billy has long dreamt of owning not one, but two, dogs. So when he’s finally able to save up enough money for two pups to call his own—Old Dan and Little Ann—he’s ecstatic. It doesn’t matter that times are tough; together they’ll roam the hills of the Ozarks.
Soon Billy and his hounds become the finest hunting team in the valley. Stories of their great achievements spread throughout the region, and the combination of Old Dan’s brawn, Little Ann’s brains, and Billy’s sheer will seems unbeatable. But tragedy awaits these determined hunters—now friends—and Billy learns that hope can grow out of despair, and that the seeds of the future can come from the scars of the past.
Rawls instills this autobiographical piece with a strong sense of right and wrong, as well as innocence and integrity. Anthony Heald is wonderful with this action and emotion-laden story. He aptly delivers a tone and sense appropriate to the text. He also does a particularly good representation of young and old voices and a variety of Southern accents. This title is an excellent selection for family listening or for anyone desiring an uplifting, but realistic tale. S.G.B. Winner of AUDIOFILE Earphones Award (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine

Thank you so much for this upload. i have the Audio file ripped from the Library CD’s and for some reason it stopped working due to some license. so i took a gamble and requested it on this site due to it being one of my 100% top fave kid books of all time. this is a deep emotional book about the adventures of a boy and his two dogs. it covers the stage of a boys want to the stage of a boys first lost. this book is amazing. thanks again for the file.

What a clear cool drink of water in a dry and dead world
of publishing. What passes today for books
is an evil joke. Book groups are now going back
to old books since people are way past fed up.
We no longer give any money to what they call
books for at least a decade. We read the greats
written by real authors. Thank You!! Your
posts by the greats are really appreciated.
