Since we know they die from the very beginning of the first book. When the puppet’s license expires. This is not a prequel. I do not think time travel is in this book. Maybe read it and find out.

Jack Forster was just a figment of Hugo Fist’s programed imagination. But yes we do see he mentioned as he was reincarnated as a “grow 3 inches” email ad. So be careful to remove those from your spam folder.
