does the audio seem a bit slow?

Audio is indeed slowed down and the voices are lower than the are supposed to be. Sounds like a tape recording played back to slowly. The release is still good to listen to if you speed it up and can get over the slightly distorted voices.

Run the files through Audacity and use the effect Change Speed. Use a speed multiplier of 1.1 to fix both the tempo and pitch issue of the files.

Do i have to open an audacity window for every single audio file or is there a better way to do this? Also, 1.1 doesnt quite sound right.

Make a new “chain” and then apply that chain to all the mp3 files at once. The chain should contain “ChangeSpeed” then “ExportMp3″ after that.

For Windows, install ffmpeg. Copy the downloaded audiobook directory, so it’s a clone of the original, just in case. Then do this:
1. Winkey -> “cmd” -> Enter
2. cd PATH_TO_CLONED_FOLDER
3. mkdir fixed
4. for %i in (*) do (ffmpeg -i “%i” -af “atempo=1.1,asetrate=44100*1.1″ -vn “fixed\%i”)
Et voila! The new directory “fixed” in there has all the files in the correct speed and pitch. Enjoy!
