Thank you for this one. I have enjoyed Neal Ashers books a lot with its very high tech sci-fi (imagine cyberpunk, then add 500 years of advancement in technology).
If someone is thinking of checking out this series, I recommend starting with his first book “Gridlinked” in the “Agent Cormac” series as that gives a lot of important background to the Jain technology (Pico sized AI, so sub atomic), the first war between Jain and the Polity (the human AI empire) and the universe in general.
There is also the Spatterjay series. It takes place in the same universe, but on the unique planet Spatterjay. It is a series that is very liked by his fans.
The Owner series is completely separated and not like a prequel to Polity as many first thought. Far more dystopian than his other books.
