Trump and Churchill both fought valiantly to protect Western Civilization, and while fighting different forms of tyranny, Trump could very well be to the 21st century what Churchill was to the 20th. What do Winston Churchill - the eloquent, eternally quotable wordsmith, pudgy politician of 50 years, wealthy aristocrat, war-time Prime Minister of England - and Donald Trump, the 6′4″, brash, Twitter happy, political neophyte, billionaire entrepreneur - have in common?
In his new book, complete with never-before-told anecdotes, best-selling author Nick Adams explores how both leaders, with seemingly nothing in common, turned their day’s prevailing politics on its head. In doing so, they both endured shockingly similar battles instigated by the political establishment seeking their destruction. Trump and Churchill’s unorthodox approach to both domestic and international relations has rescued Western Civilization from the brink.

What a joke
July 26th, 2021
lol
July 26th, 2021
Another week, another ludicrous book seeking to eulogize the tangerine turd. In this week’s edition, we are going to compare polar opposites, that even the author agrees, have nothing in common, and try to exalt the lying, cheating, unintellectual, uninspiring, moribund mango above his natural crass equilibrum.
July 26th, 2021
Tbf, they’re both quite racist. I’m sure they’ve got a couple of other things in common as well.
July 26th, 2021
April 1st seems to come round earlier and earlier..
July 26th, 2021
Sounds like an episode of from “The Man in the High Castle”
July 26th, 2021
LOL. No. comparing Bonespurs to an actual war hero, that’s a bad joke
July 26th, 2021
Thank you, Churchill is a British national hero. The negative comments are from the ignorant woke.
July 26th, 2021
Wrong category; should be in the Fantasy section.
July 26th, 2021
Okay, first and foremost, TigerMoth, in my opinion, you completely win this discussion simply for using “tangerine turd”. That. Is. Hilarious.
Seriously, I almost spit my coffee reading that.
Second, I think everyone can agree that the two men absolutely share excellent scowly faces.
Finally, what’s with this new trend of comparing The Tangerine Turd to famous political figures from history? Churchill. Lincoln. Washington. What’s up with that? And, can we start a new trend of comparing him to, oh, I don’t know, Batman villains? Or bad TV sidekicks? Or awful potato chip flavours?
July 26th, 2021
Looks at the british empire before and after ww2. Wow good job Churchill
July 26th, 2021
Coming up next week: Trump and Jesus: A Father And Son Battle For The Salvation Of The Human Soul.
July 26th, 2021
fall19, the British Empire was in decline before WWII and, at risk of upsetting our cousins across the pond, was speeded up by the USA milking what was left of it dry. As far as I am concerned, good riddance to the Empire, and, I would much prefer the huge debt we incurred fighting that war than the alternative history.
July 26th, 2021
lol, Fireplace. Looking forward to that, sounds like it might be a best seller.
July 26th, 2021
Trump and Churchill: both carbon-based lifeforms; featuring internal organs; both comprised DNA, carrying vital genetic instructions…
In fairness to Trump, people 100s of yrs hence will likely look back - & still ask “Who the F voted for that prime political mandarin?”
July 26th, 2021
The only thing they have in common is that you could say quite a few negative things about them as people. As leaders, they have very little in common.
July 26th, 2021
Tell the author to put down the crackpipe
July 26th, 2021
Yeah, but we have no scratchy vinyl recording of Churchill boasting that “When one is chancellor of the Exchequer, ladies permit one to grasp them by the fanny.” (Games room discourse)
That one won’t travel well for American readers.
July 26th, 2021
Pretty sure the midterms will settle this…
July 26th, 2021
Real Leaders. Not like that brain damaged, bed wetting Geek currently polluting the WH
July 26th, 2021
Aside from obesity, being born into rich families, nothing in common.
Churchill joined the army and fought in several wars. Trump faked an injury to evade service in Vietnam.
When Churchill lost the election in 1945 he admitted defeat and resigned as PM.
Churchill wrote over 20 books, serious histories mostly. Trump has paid several ghostwriters to create books with his name on the cover.
Etc, etc.
July 26th, 2021
About the only thinng they have in common is the racism.
July 26th, 2021
Churchill is a respected historical figure so any comparison to DJT is a delusion. Comically delusional. Author will need de-programming before he can come to terms with reality.
July 26th, 2021
One of them sent a state terror force of murderers & torturers into Ireland, in order to most efficiently intimidate, brutalise & coerce the population.
The other one (this is like that feature on Sesame St) reckons global warming is “a total hoax” & “bullpoop” - but simultaneously acknowledged its reality & unfolding dire effects in official submissions relating to his Irish golf resort.
He was applying for permission to build a sea wall designed to protect his Co Clare property from “global warming and its effects.”
He desperately needed an erection of coastal protection works to prevent erosion at his seaside golf resort, explicitly citing GW & its consequences - increased erosion due to rising sea levels and extreme weather this century - as a chief justification for building the structure.
July 26th, 2021
What an insult to Churchill. I expect nothing better from these QAnon cultists.
July 26th, 2021
Churchill wasn’t the nicest of people but you don’t gotta be so disrespectful with this comparison…he’s probably rolling over in his grave
July 26th, 2021
Caesar: You’ll prob be “completely surprised” to discover that the Black & Tans aren’t ever mentioned in English schools. 9/10 people have never even heard of them.
We live on a plague Island in which people are absolutely fine with it being run by cartoon villain’s. Don’t expect too much.
July 26th, 2021
Trumpism just has to go. How did we get to this point. I refuse to believe americans are really that dumb.
July 26th, 2021
Never knew that of his golf course, caesar.
Also, of Churchill, he sent in troops against the striking Welsh miners. He was far from a saint, but he was certainly a far better politican and soldier than Trump.
July 26th, 2021
Churchill was one of the great statesman of the 20th Century. He held the UK — and, by association, all of Europe — together when most others though all was lost. He had his flaws, an anachronistic insistence on holding onto India for one. But comparing Trump to him is like comparing Adam Smith to Stalin. One built an economic system, the other used an economic system to terrorize a nation. And let’s be clear, neither Trump nor Churchill ever fought in any war. During the Boer War, Churchill may have been in the army, but as a war correspondent, nothing more. During World War I, he was First Lord of the Admiralty, and the force behind that war’s biggest debacle, Gallipoli. He began WW II as First Lord, and rose to Prime Minister. It was there he built the reputation he richly deserves. Trump? Defender of nothing other than his self-interest.
July 26th, 2021
Trump is no where close to Churchill’s League!
This book is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Churchill fought Hitler and the Nazis fomrt aking over western Civilization…
Trump emboldens Nazis!!!!
July 26th, 2021
Trump and Jesus? Nah, have to get the weight class right. Maybe Trump and Jehovah, if the former shows some restraint of significance…
July 26th, 2021
Don’t normally comment, but this is disgusting…
July 26th, 2021
Not a fan of Churchill but had genuinely burst out laughing. Trump is a charlatan, a fraud and without his family’s billions none of us would have ever heard of him.
July 27th, 2021
Gotta love how Orange Julius triggers liberals
July 27th, 2021
@gk78, thank you!
July 27th, 2021
Monkey spunk.
July 27th, 2021
As absurd and pathetic as those MAGA posters with Trump’s head on Rocky’s body.
July 27th, 2021
I see that Leadingnorth, the white supremacist and paedophile is back.
July 27th, 2021
I had thought that the enviable Trump physique & one-pack of abs was the result of the Trump diet programme.
@YourMum - At least Steve Coogan sang abt them on the Partridge show.
@Tigerman - I think he had some golf shenanigans in Scotland as well.
Following the Gallipoli disaster (last surviving ANZAC was the great grandad of Ruby Rose) Churchill fought in France for at least a few months. I definitely recall seeing him in a snazzy uniform.
July 27th, 2021
He got out before the Somme campaign began.
July 27th, 2021
@Gweilo
> When Churchill lost the election in 1945 he admitted defeat and resigned as PM
And the history behind that election defeat is most interesting and telling:
“Many of those who are advocating Socialism or voting Socialist today will be horrified at this idea. That is because they are short-sighted, that is because they do not see where their theories are leading them”
“No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance”
“And this would nip opinion in the bud; it would stop criticism as it reared its head, and it would gather all the power to the supreme party and the party leaders, rising like stately pinnacles above their vast bureaucracies of Civil servants, no longer servants and no longer civil”
https://tidesofhistory.com/2020/06/16/gestapo-in-britain-the-speech-that-kicked-off-the-1945-general-election
July 27th, 2021
On the 4thJune, Churchill kicked off the 45 campaign with his first election broadcast:
“there can be no doubt that Socialism is inseparably interwoven with Totalitarianism and the abject worship of the State”
“there is to be one State to which all are to be obedient in every act of their lives. This State is to be the arch-employer, the arch-planner, the arch-administrator and ruler, and the arch-caucus boss”
“Socialism is, in its essence, an attack upon the right of the ordinary man or woman to breathe freely without having a harsh, clumsy tyrannical hand clapped across their mouths and nostrils.”
July 27th, 2021
“Socialism is, in its essence, an attack upon the right of the ordinary man or woman to breathe freely without having a harsh, clumsy tyrannical hand clapped across their mouths and nostrils.” - said the uninformed ignorant pig person with unqualified confidence.
Great upload Lieve!
July 27th, 2021
@alnilam Sure. And After Churchill lost in 1945, he didn’t accuse anyone one of “stealing” the election, no matter how awful he thought the incoming government would be.
When the “Socialists”, aka the Labour Party, took over, they surprisingly never did form a Gestapo. And when they lost in turn, they stepped aside, without sending a mob to ransack Parliament. Despite winning government many times in the 75 years since then, the “Socialists” have somehow refrained from becoming the totalitarian dictatorship he envisioned. Instead occupied themselves with socialist ideas like the National Health Scheme. So put that prediction in the “completely wrong” column.
To be fair, he’d just come out of war with one dictator and saw Stalin being the next. But what he was good at was fighting war. Not being a peacetime leader.

@ramosivle - I came here to make literally the exact same comment.
It’s nice that Audiobookbay is listing books for children aged 3 to 5 years.
July 27th, 2021
LOL, when I saw this I thought that if I stayed up all night I couldn’t have come up with a better title to trigger SJW meltdowns, but even so I’m surprised at the splendid response. Give that man a cigar! (to keep Churchill company)
July 27th, 2021
@itxlan
Are you simple, you legit think this is triggering SJWs? People are mocking the comparison (”triggered” in your words) because Churchill actually had balls. Churchill came to power facing off the Nazis. Trump came to power scapegoating impoverished illegal immigrants. When Trump faced an ACTUAL crisis (COVID) he completely sh*t the bed.
CHURCHILL: We’ll fight on the beaches … never surrender
TRUMP: We’ll inject bleach, that might save the stock market
“SJW meltdowns” lmao
July 27th, 2021
worked like a charm
July 28th, 2021
Im Irish and I dont particularly like Churchill but he was an immensely significant historical figure. Trump was a disgusting little toad whos only legacy is that he was a disgusting little toad
July 28th, 2021
It’s time to reach across the aisle to to my Trumpian brothers and sisters and express the most important comparison between Trump and Churchill that they best understand.
Trump has publicly mocked several people for their height: Sen. Bob ‘Liddle Bob’ Corker (5′7″), Mike “Mini-Mike” Bloomsberg (5′7″), Pete ‘I’ve had him up to here (points to own chest)’Buttigieg (5′8″).
But Churchill was only 5′6″ … so … obviously, there it is … Loser (’cough’)
July 28th, 2021
@Airfish - He had a right go at Sadiq Khan’s height as well.
@barrytwotoes - Churchill was great when he starred in that old movie against the nasty Nazis. “Nazis,” he exclaimed “I hate these guys,” before using a bullwhip on them. A great flick. I took Calpurnia & Octavian to see it.
On Ireland, he had some rum notions. He was keen on the idea of aerial bombardment & machine-gunning of the civilian population, in order to make them “stampede” as he said. It’s not entirely certain that he was clear he was talking about human beings in that memo. But he did like a good stampede, all the same.
I think his proposal was rejected because it would not go down well in America.
However, he carried it out in Mesopotamia. Aerial bombardments of villagers was euphemistically referred to in official reports as “visitations.” He also wanted to use chemical weapons in that conflict. He was an early advocate of these weapons.
He didn’t like partition and thought it would not work. He tried to undermine it (along with Michael Collins) by taking Tyrone & Fermanagh (or large parts of them) from the small statelet, thereby rendering it unviable.
July 28th, 2021
@Airfish: regardless, mano a mano, I’d put my money on the bulldog vs bonespurs.
July 29th, 2021
@Gweilo: completely agree
@caesar: wow, that’s depressing re Mesopotamia and Ireland.
I will give Churchill credit for some evolution over his life. Like promoting a ‘United States of Europe’ in Switzerland, 1946. Which kind of goes against his old favored notion of English sovereignty and, to some extent at least, I imagine, an acceptance of the sun setting on the empire.
And there wasn’t anyone better to oppose Hitler. And he was intelligent, articulate and interesting. Trump is none of those things; a cheap, loud barbarian.
I enjoy your comments, caesar
July 29th, 2021
Ditto, Airfish. In spite of a lot of his history, he did seem to be the right guy, in the right place, etc. It’s ironic that, as a result of the failure of another of his military campaigns (Norway, this time) - he attained the premiership, in 1940. An ill wind, and all that.
On the ‘US of Europe’ - it was a policy of the British for centuries to prevent any one, single power predominating on the continent.
July 30th, 2021
I can understand why Churchill got miffed with the Irish, they’re quite often an annoying bunch.
July 30th, 2021
Cute ‘n adorable - unless we’re showing u the door.
July 31st, 2021
Gross. this is comparing a real-life hero (Churchill) to the petulant manchild Trump. Not even in the same league by 6 orders of magnitude. Trump will forever be a shamed name like Patsy, Kardashian, or McCarthy.
July 31st, 2021
Patsy Kensit? Lots of good McCarthys around Kerry.
November 17th, 2021
A book for people who cannot read
January 3rd, 2022
Hahahaha, LOL I think there is more than 100 IQ difference between them
February 18th, 2024
This can’t be real. Churchill never licked the ass of Stalin like Trump did on worldwide television in Helsinki after Putin attacked the symbol of us democracy the , US election, Which he the went on to attack himself. Churchill was not a 23 time rapist either. This is the sickest this I have ever scene accept may a group of cultist that once called themselves conservative nominating this TRAITOR, CONVICTED IN CIVIL COURT TO BE A RAPIST and NOW CONVICTED IN NYC of being a CROOK, to be the US president.
September 4th, 2024
All these people commenting, how many actual read the book. I think less than 20% Typical Leftist. Always an opinion on things they are too lazy to learn about.
