Well men like me anyway. ‘Toll for the Brave’ is a guilty pleasure, written by Higgins under an alias in the early 70s this book was never meant to be compared to the liked of ‘The Eagle Has Landed’. Ellis Jackson is a failed English soldier who decides to join the US Marines instead and get shipped out to Vietnam. This story tells us about his capture, escape and more importantly, how he lives his life back in Blighty.

Things have not gone well for Jackson, he is an alcoholic and he has just woken up after a flashback with two corpses! Did he murder them or is the past haunting him for real?
