It was huge when it came out and was on the bookshelves of my parents house for many years. They had to move country and were not able to take much which included all their books.
I remember Jack Hawkins as the Captain and that it was black and white!
Hope you find a copy of the book in the future.

I think I have a hard cover book of the Cruel Sea and also the Ship that Died of Shame which I really enjoyed reading all those years ago. Trouble is many of my books are in storage awaiting unpacking when I get time! Have noted your nickname and will make contact if I do have it. Thanks for upload

xmakara. what i would like is an unabridged ver of the audio book. ive the film, a hard back version, a paper back version and a waterproof sailing version (which someone gave me), but i dont go sailing LOL). My 2nd most read book is HMS Saracen by Douglas Reeman :)
