Admiral John “Black Jack” Geary earned his rank after being revived from cryogenic sleep to lead the Alliance to victory against the Syndicate Worlds. But his superiors question his loyalty to the regime. Now in command of the First Fleet, Geary is tasked with exploring the frontier beyond Syndic space, a mission he fears deliberately puts the fleet - and himself - in harm’s way.
An encounter with the alien enigmas confirms Geary’s fears. Attacked without warning, he orders the fleet to jump star systems - only to enter the crosshairs of another hostile alien armada. Ignoring all of the First Fleet’s attempts to communicate peaceful intentions, this system’s species sends its ships into battle on suicide runs while it guards the exiting jump point with a fortress of incalculable power.
Now, with a faction of his officers determined to eliminate this new threat at any cost, Geary must figure out how to breach the enemy’s defenses so the fleet can reach the jump point without massive casualties - even though the enigmas could be waiting on the other side.

In The Lost Fleet series?
Or one of the parts in the latest Beyond the Frontier continuation of The Lost Fleet series?
Will dl check and answer my own questions so as to inform any future member who possibly could be intrested in what this is..

This is “The Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier: Invincible”. It is book 2 of the second series, the first being just “The Lost Fleet: (Ship name).
Mr Hemry (AKA Jack Campbell) has been contracted for three additional books in this series. Another shoot off of the original “The Lost Fleet” series is to be released in October of this year. It is at this time called “The Lost Stars: Tarnished Knight” It follows what transpires in the Midway Star System and the other former Syndic controlled space. Giving us a view of the universe from what up till now has been enemy eyes.
I hope this helps. The previous book in this second series was called.. “”The Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier: DREADNAUGHT”. I recommend both of these series, it is wonderfully written and the narrator is fantastic. 99% of all the physics and ship handling are realistically done. Again I highly recommend.

Yeah Tizroc has the right of it. Fell asleep this morning listening to this the second book in the Beyond the Frontier shootoff ;P So I kinda failed to repost said fact as promised but now thankfully the Header has been updated and made somewhat more specific. And should not be confusing.
Very good series indeed for the space opera inclined + abit more.
Now im going to continue listening to this great book.
