Libation can retain the .aax after decryption too it’s one of the options you can select. While that’s better or worse I have no idea, just pointing that out because it sounds similar to what OP mentioned.
Also in Libation MAKE SURE “Move the mp4 moov atom to the beginning of the file?” is checked or it won’t be able to play from the beggining in things like AudioBookShelf (only thing I’ve tried it). This was a massive slap in my face when I noticed I completely f’ed a bunch of my own rips -.-

@kamisama95 You have the title of the first book written incorrectly in your description. Should be Shards of Earth instead of “Shades of the Earth” as you have it written.

The Narrator is terrible, she sounds like she is reading to a group of young nursery age children, so disappointing

Just looked her up “Sophie Aldred (born 20 August 1962) is an English actress and television presenter. She has worked extensively in children’s television as a presenter and voice artist.”
It makes me wonder who signed off on this :-(

Love his writing and I have tried to listen to this book several times but the narrator is too annoying. This would have been better off with one of the new tts software voices.

Re the narrator, Sophie Aldred, I beg to disagree. I thought she did a wonderful job, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to all three books.
I particularly loved the array of accents she used for the different characters. Many of them are regional UK accents, which I suppose non-UK listeners might find off-putting.
As to her credits, older or more rabid Doctor Who fans might remember her as Ace, companion of the 7th Doctor, as played by Sylvester McCoy in the late 80s. She reprised the role in the October 2022 Doctor Who BBC Centenary special.
