That’s interesting, new narrator. Hope it wasn’t a Vikas adams kind of change. Though, Todd is good but inconsistent.

@heone it will be Neil hellegers going foward. Once he’s caught up to where Michael chatfield is at with the books, he’ll start narrating the previous books so people can have a uniform narration experience through the series. (info from michael’s Facebook page)

The difference between Neil and Todd is a bit jarring for a while(especially, when just coming from the Good Guys/Bad Guys series). I found that Todd’s work with this series got a bit dry and my interest would drift. On the other hand, Neil’s version is more engaging. Though, some parts of these books seem to be difficult to make more engaging.

@setesh Thanks, I quit social media a while ago, out of the loop for some things, but I’m much happier now.
Anyways, I wonder if this is the reason they pulled these books from the library as well.
As far as Neil is concerned, I like him for Good Guys/Bad Guys, but I find the narration to be very similar, I forget which series I’m listening to sometimes. I haven’t started this one yet, I’m half way thru the kindle copy. I do wish MC would do a better job at editing.

I like the old narrator better for this series. The voices are not distinguishable enough. The difference between Eric and Rugrat are minimal compared to the previous versions.

@h0ser I forgot to say, Thanks for the upload.
So, I’ve just started… Neil is a GREAT reader, no mistakes and his pronunciation is pretty good and fairly consistent.
But, his range of voices is pretty low, I’d estimate he has about 6 voices. Rugrat does sound more like a southwestern cowboy, but he forgets to use the accent sometimes. So I agree w/ h0ser on them.
Another thing is, he’s pretty monotone w/ this book, I’m 4 chapters in and i’ve had to backtrack at least once per chapter, just because my mind wanders and I have no idea what’s going on. He also reads pretty fast, and ignores paragraph pauses sometimes. If your player has the option, I’d recommend playing at -10% speed.
