The Devil’s Advocate was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the W. H. Heinemann Award of the Royal Society of Literature, and it was made into a film. It sold three million copies in its first two years and remains one of Morris West’s most popular novels.

I’m working my way through the Vatican trilogy now. Loved the Shoes of the Fisherman and have three good friends reading it now on my recommendation. Thank you so much for fulfilling this request. It’s so satisfying to read an author who uses language so poetically. West writes not only interesting stories, but he also uses language so well that in my opinion it rises to great literature. This is a real gift and it is greatly appreciated.
