From the phony Russia collusion narrative to the coordinated riots laying waste to US cities, it’s the same ongoing operation orchestrated by the left and targeting not just President Trump but hundreds of millions of Americans who revere their country and what it stands for. For the first time, crusading investigative journalist Lee Smith reveals who was responsible and the never before known involvement of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and senior military officials who engineered a coup against a sitting president.
—
Beginning in late 2015, political operatives, intelligence officials, and the press pushed a conspiracy theory about Trump—he was a Russian asset and spied on his campaign and his presidency in order to undo an election.
Because the ultimate goal of the anti-Trump operation is not simply to topple the president but rather to change the character and constitution of the country, the Deep State’s machinations didn’t stop even after Trump was cleared of charges of “colluding” with Moscow.
Their efforts became even more fierce, more desperate, and more divisive, threatening to scar America permanently.
In their zeal to bring down President Trump, Deep State conspirators had unwittingly revealed the origins of the anti-Trump operation and exposed corruption at the very highest levels of the Democratic party—including former Vice President Biden and his boss, Barack Obama.
Lee Smith brings to this story the same incisive reporting and commentary that distinguished his runaway best seller, “The Plot Against the President”.
His investigation, identifying crimes and abuses committed by senior US officials, was later confirmed by a major Department of Justice report.
For “The Permanent Coup”, Smith again enjoys unrivaled and exclusive access to the main players defending America and uncovering Deep State crimes—including Congressman Devin Nunes and the president’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.

Wonder what it is that make the woke so obnoxious ? The hypocrisy ? The rabid double standards ? The need to censor any opposing opinion ? The need to fiddle figures to make them more palatable ?
The drips above are a fine example (Not your good self, Apollo60)

Meanwhile, the msm, Big Tech and the Democrats are covering the Biden Crime Family’s corruption, traitorous behavior and total incompetence.
Watergate was 1st grader pranks compared to the Election Fraud and Coup that the Democrats, and their allies orchestrated on the American People.
Excellent work by Mr. Lee!

An 18-month investigation proved there was association with Russian intelligence and the Trump campaign and that this association was willful by the Trump campaign. That is an irrefutable fact. …Except, the investigation also found that the Trump family was actually too damn dumb to commit treason (at that time) and collude with Russia. Even the Russian intelligence they were meeting with were surprised by just how damn dumb the family is. I don’t think anyone can claim ‘total exoneration’ when there were actually 10 different points that urged further investigation by a body not the DOJ so that he could be charged with a crime. But sure. Permanent Coup. His sycophants just don’t understand the coup was him against himself.

“Yes, the Left hates Trump, but its hatred is really for us. In its hive mind, we have no right to rule ourselves, no moral standing to defy the pagan god of Progressivism. There was nothing religious, let alone deranged, in that quote. It asserts that the left are [quasi] religious fanatics. I happen to agree. Incidentally, talking about religious fanatics does not make you one. You could just offer some other quote, or otherwise address the subject at hand, rather than attacking me personally and making your Alinsky tactics a bit too obvious.

“So what’s the Democrats’ beef with God? What do they have against the Jews of Israel? Why do they want abortions to be commonplace and frequent? These are just three questions—and they’re from just the other day. We Right-Thinking people have a thousand more. And they all come down to this: “Why does the Modern Liberal—the dominant force in today’s Democratic Party and throughout so much of America’s modern culture—seem to side in every case with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success? This book answers that question.”
“The question, then, becomes: “Why?” Why do so many seemingly nice, caring, and in every other way smart people make the most ludicrous and hateful arguments on behalf of all that is evil, failed and wrong? Why is so much of their enmity aimed at all that is good, right and successful?”
“For now, suffice it to say that stupidity is a luxury. One can only afford to be naive and ignorant so long as he lives in a world of great plenty. Adam and Eve could only survive their ignorance and naivete because God provided such abundance. When God no longer provided that bounty, they had to either grow up or die. The kindergartner can only survive such ignorance and naivete because there are parents who provide for his every need. When the parents no longer do so, the child must either grow up or die. It’s not at all surprising, then, that an ideology whose very purpose is to retard the individuals’ moral and intellectual growth at the level of the small child would, after centuries of being rejected, suddenly find a home in the most luxurious time and the most luxurious place in all of human history—America after the 2nd World War.”

Is that your professional medical opinion — or just a political one? Medical professionals are not known for chasing people on politicized websites and offering their unsolicited opinions. Ditto for professional politicians, I guess, as usually they have better things to do. What’s left, you must be some kind of a political amateur, or activist, who enjoys chasing people around, offering his political opinions a bit too persistently, and trying to diminish and denigrate people on every turn and on a personal level, should they disagree. You may dislike certain books and ideas, and you are entitled to your opinions, like everybody else. However, there’s a world of difference between disliking certain books and ideas — and actively translating that dislike and negative feelings into diminishing and denigrating people, simply because they happen to adhere to a different set of books and ideas.

Biden is about to bring down this country for all the lefties with their heads up their asses. Trump had the entire world at peace, as well as firm allies who kept Russia and China at bay, as he knows how to handle people. Biden lost most of our allies with his potato brained idiocy, and now Russia and China are going to take over most of the world. You may perceive “quoting books” as “presenting absurd conspiracy theories”. However, you individual perceptions do not necessarily translate into “everybody else sees it that way”.
> I think you’re actually sincere, which means you are nuts.
Again, is that your professional medical opinion, or a just a political one? You keep missing that point.
“Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.” Discussing people here means to talk about a person, typically in a negative, gossipy way. Here the magician’s hands promptly sweep away both EVENTS and IDEAS behind them, and focus on a PERSON instead, effectively dragging an otherwise routine exchange of opinions into the mud.

“Once, there was a world without teenagers. Literally. “Teenager,” the word itself, doesn’t pop into the lexicon much before 1941. This speaks volumes about the last few millennia. In all those many centuries, nobody thought to mention “teenagers” because there was nothing, apparently, to think of mentioning.
In considering what I like to call “the death of the grown-up,” it’s important to keep a fix on this fact: that for all but this most recent episode of human history, there were children and there were adults. Children in their teen years aspired to adulthood; significantly, they didn’t aspire to adolescence. Certainly, adults didn’t aspire to remain teenagers.
That doesn’t mean youth hasn’t always been a source of adult interest: just think in 500 years what Shakespeare, Dickens, the Brontes, Mark Twain, Booth Tarkington, Eugene O’Neill, and Leonard Bernstein have done with teen material. But something has changed. Actually, a lot of things have changed. For one thing, turning thirteen, instead of bringing children closer to an adult world, now launches them into a teen universe. For another, due to the permanent hold our culture has placed on the maturation process, that’s where they’re likely to find most adults.”

@alnilam: no, you’re nuts not because I disagree with your politics, but because you espouse lunatic conspiracy theories, as the last several books you have uploaded and loudly support their theses.
In other venues I see the same mode of thought by rabid supporters of the CCP who have their own demonology, but making the Western democracies the tools of satan. Fortunately they don’t frequent this site, it’s already wearisome enough with the American RWNJs.
Cultish supporters of authoritarian movements have much more in common with each other than they do with those who support democracy and human rights.
Anyway, these books don’t change anyone’s mind, and I doubt that anyone actually reads them, certainly no one who comments on them has. I have downloaded the ebooks to skim through and see they really are as ridiculous as I thought. At least the SF books you do might entertain some.

> no, you’re nuts not because I disagree with your politics, but because you espouse lunatic conspiracy theories, as the last several books you have uploaded and loudly support their theses.
Maybe it’s because I don’t think of those books in such terms? You are entitled to think of any book in any way you like. Surely, I must be awarded the same privilege, is it not? Also, you seem to have difficulty understanding some rather simple things. Like, for example, calling names or attaching labels to something or someone does not necessarily magically turn it into reality, no matter how strongly you may desire such an outcome.
> Anyway, these books don’t change anyone’s mind, and I doubt that anyone actually reads them, certainly no one who comments on them has.
You seem to speculate about my intentions beyond simply sharing books with fellow book readers. As with any speculation, some of them may be right, and some may be wrong.

“You close out other options, other possibilities which might have been yours. Such limitation, once acceptable, now goes against the cultural grain—it is almost as if the fluidity of the contemporary world demands an analogous limitlessness in our personal perspective. Any doctrine, that of the family, religion, the school, that does not sustain this increasingly felt need for a multiplicity of options and instead offers an ideal of a shaped life, a formed life, has the sign on it of a retrograde and depriving authority, which, it is felt, must be resisted.”
● Lionel Trilling
“Trilling was writing in what his wife Diana Trilling has chronicled as the personally painful aftermath of the 1968 student sacking of Columbia, his beloved alma mater, and where he had taught English for four decades. But if the raging turmoil around him destroyed the “shaped life” he admired, it inaugurated a new way of life defined by its very shapelessness: being without becoming; process without culmination; journey without end; indeed, the state of perpetual adolescence that is a way of life to this day.”

Again, you are entitled to your own views, opinions, and interpretations. Some readers may agree with you, and some may not, and that’s okay too. The trouble starts when you try to play the judge and the jury, and to elevate your views, opinions and interpretations to some “the final and only truth” status and pedestal — even though by their very nature they stubbornly remain relative, partial and personal, equal to everybody else’s in significance and weight.
> You actually believe this stuff.
Well, I definitely believe in reading and sharing books and related information. I hope you don’t have a problem with that.
> And that means you have lost touch with reality.
It always comes down to those teeny-weeny details like “according to whom, exactly” and “what that individual’s true motivation might be”. I don’t have a problem with your views and opinions. However, I strongly object to your misguided attempts to criminalize and marginalize mine, without anything of substance to back it up.

“That fundamental happening was that adults, having been launched into their new orbit around children, were suddenly looking to those same children not only for guidance but also approval. In other words, long before the 1960s crack-up, American culture was no longer being driven by the adult behind the wheel; it was being taken for a ride by the kids in the backseat.
Where to? ‘Seventeen’ magazine, celebrating its 17th birthday in 1961, gave its readers a general idea:
“When ‘Seventeen’ was born in 1944, we made one birthday wish: that this magazine would give stature to the teenage years, give teen-agers a sense of identity, of purpose, of belonging. In what kind of world did we make our wish? A world in which teen-agers were the forgotten, the ignored generation. In stores, teen-agers shopped for clothes in adults’ or children’s departments, settling for fashions too old or too young…They suffered the hundred pains and uncertainties of adolescence in silence… In 1961, as we blow out the candles on our seventeenth birthday cake, the accent everywhere is on youth. The needs, the wants, even the whims of teen-agers are catered to by almost every major industry. But what is more important, teens themselves have found a sense of direction in a very difficult world… Around the entire world, they are exerting powerful moral and political pressures. When a girl celebrates her 13th birthday today, she knows who she is. She’s a teen-ager—and proud of it.”
Oh, brother. Just wait till she heads off to college, a member of the graduating class of 1970. Of course, what marks this editorial—no doubt written by no teenager—is the laughably spoiled brattiness of it all. The idea that 1944, the year of D-day, could be recalled as a time of forgotten, ignored American teenagers who languished in department stores reveals, as nothing else quite does, just how tightly focused and limited adolescent horizons had become—or, better, how tightly focused and limited adults had allowed them to become.
Meanwhile, just for the record, quite a number of teens, circa 1944, including my dad, had a perfectly healthy “sense of belonging”, all right—to the United States Army. But there is something else that is equally striking about this absurd little teenybopper manifesto: the staggering truth of it. By 1961, the accent everywhere was indeed on youth. It still is. And it’s time to say it’s getting old.”

@alnilam: it’s not about views or opinions”, it’s about facts and evidence. You have none to support your conspiracies. Quoting some loon who agrees with you is not proof.
There are courts of law to prove these things and absolutely none of these has stood up in court when they have to produce actual evidence.
If you want to believe in alien abductions or ley lines or some other woo woo, that’s equally crazy, but harmless. We can just sigh and move on. This political mythology though is leading thousands to commit violence, and millions to support the cynical fascists who spread these lies to gain power.
July 22nd, 2022
@Gweilo
> it’s not about views or opinions”, it’s about facts and evidence.
To the contrary, it is exactly about views and opinions — what else could it possibly be about on a book-sharing site? Unless, of course, you keep confusing yourself with the judge and the jury, dealing with whatever “facts and evidence” arbitrarily, and regarding the site members as accused or defendants.
> You have none to support your conspiracies. Quoting some loon who agrees with you is not proof.
But I’m still allowed to share and quote books I happen to like, right? Currently, I’m not so sure about that point, after some recent developments, where political activists with one hand can post and re-post numerous copies of political books they like, and with another make lots of noise and delete or threaten to delete some otherwise perfectly legit copies of books they dislike. But then, again, what would some of my friends across the aisle be without some laser-focused selectivity and exclusivity.
> There are courts of law to prove these things and absolutely none of these has stood up in court when they have to produce actual evidence.
I’m not sure why it is big news for you. The American courts of law, created by advanced human beings of previous generations, have been considerably corrupted and weakened and repurposed by some other humans in modern times, hence the increasing number of irregularities, legislating from the bench, misruling and misconduct and worse. Unfortunately, it is far gone from the decent and solid American institution of yesteryear you keep pretending it still is (almost as if you, arrogant liberal-progressive-woke kiddies, never came along).
> If you want to believe in alien abductions or ley lines or some other woo woo, that’s equally crazy, but harmless. We can just sigh and move on. This political mythology though is leading thousands to commit violence, and millions to support the cynical fascists who spread these lies to gain power.
Brilliant. Too bad this rationalization stinks Goebbels and Alinsky to high heaven. So now some humble e-librarians can be called “fascists who spread lies”, and dealt with accordingly. Speaking of political mythologies — remind me, people on which political side tend to conduct themselves peacefully (provocations and Reichstag Fires and show trials aside); and hell-bent on violence and destruction?
July 22nd, 2022
@alnilam: you’re allowed to post all this Qanon adjacent garbage. And I’m allowed to comment on it. You keep implying that you’ve been censored, or threatened in some way. This is a neutral platform. The only books banned for content here were explicitly pro Nazi. Nothing of yours. So WTF are you complaining about?
How have you been “dealt with” that disadvantages you? All your conspiracy mongering tracts are still here. Have a look at the reams of abuse your comrades post on any book mentioning race, sexual identity, or anything slightly left of Mussolini and then tell me you’ve been treated worse by people making fun of the books or alternatively taking them seriously and pointing out how factually wrong they are.
July 22nd, 2022
@alnilam
So much waffle. Why don’t people like you just admit what you are? You’ll right paragraphs and quote entire sections of obscure tomes to skirt around the obvious - that you are the extreme far-right, potentially fascist in your beliefs.
I’ll answer my own question - people like you won’t admit what you are because you are cowards.

Is there a point to this conversation, other than you demonstrating your machismo, brutality, and hatred towards the opposite political camp to your like-minded adolescent comrades? It seems you are under the impression that since you are a big boss here, you can get away with literally anything, like chasing and bossing people around, diminishing and denigrating them on every turn, deleting books under false pretenses and all that. Not to mention routinely playing the judge and the jury, and treating site members as if they were accused or defendants. If there’s a rationale for such abhorrent behavior and attitude, I keep missing it.

It seems you really believe in what you are saying. So much righteous passion and desire to stick it to the political enemy. And not even a hint of awareness “power corrupts” and “some related limitations ought to be in place”. And this is exactly where you are dead wrong.
(i) In that previous old post you keep mentioning, the poster incorrectly named the author “Mollie Ziegler Hemingway”, instead of just “Mollie Hemingway”, as it was clearly stated on book covers. I commented on that, and no one bothered to reply, yourself included, let alone to correct the mistake. And now you have just deleted my perfectly correct and legit book copy, again without bothering to address that very issue. Under false pretenses or not, it’s a good question. And the answer depends on “whom do you ask”, what a surprise. In some other place you stated “if torrent expires, members are expected to make a re-post inquiry on the forum [*], then the book will be re-posted”, something like that. However, when I observe how much more politically skewed and biased this book site is becoming by the day, where apparent rabid ideologues are running the show, while feigning and pretending objectivity and impartiality — it is difficult for me to believe in their good intentions, and not to see what is more likely, i.e. more means for them to control and shape things on this strange books+forum combo site, under desired political angles. I remember this site a few years back, when active members could, in comparison, breathe relatively easily. Time period, when posting and re-posting books in common formats was considered a good thing, and not a “spam”, let alone a fierce political battle.
(ii) Now to my actual motives behind the last re-post, “the way you see it” vs. “the way I see it”. To make this part clear and refresh your memory: first, it does not bother me, how many posts and re-posts are there on the opposite political side; and second, I would be hard pressed to recall a similar “OMG, it is spam!” situation, followed by forceful, loud, demonstrative action, applied to any political book on the left. You see it only under the angle of a fierce political battle, which you must win no matter what. Worse yet, now you seem to be pulling out all the stops and throwing away the remnants of civility. Speaking of my intentions, you may be even right about that, at least in a small part. However, blinded by your political passion and rage, you fail to see and recognize something a lot more significant and important. Namely, the non-political, non-combative, societally cohesive, cooperative, objectively positive part of the same story. Something that might even prevent us from becoming irreversible bitter enemies, and help us remain in a common civil territory. When it comes to this book, I checked the old torrent, saw the seeds indicator in red, flickering between nothing-something-nothing, left it downloading anyway, and re-posted the book in a different, more user-friendly mp3 format, just in case (@64 mp3 chapters; more compact; now with correct author’s name “Mollie Hemingway”). My motivation was “some people might be interested in that book, but currently it may, or may not be accessible, so perhaps I can help it”. At the time, I did not think of those people in terms of right or left, friends or foes — just people. More to the point, I did not think of it in terms of fighting and winning political battles — which is your personal new fad, so your would be wise to keep it to yourself, and not try to pin on others. Spin it in any way you like — it is still what it is, nothing more and nothing less. Now considerably more politically skewed and biased and agitated, compared to earlier times (if not directed to be more harsh with political opponents), you had your formal reason to declare me “enemy of the state”, so to speak, ascribed all sorts of evil intentions to my otherwise benign action, and acted according to your political worldview. Nothing too sinister at this point, definitely if one does not look closely, you just deleted that book copy because it was designated “spam” (designated by you personally, or by “new site policy”, a distinction without difference), so there’s nothing to worry about, right? And those who disagree can just go pound sand, because you have the executive power, and they don’t, right?

@Gweilo I’ve gotten copies of the Turner Diaries and The Hoax of the 20th Century from you!!!!
Why are you allowed to promote your white supremacist ideas and holocaust denialism?

@tjtennis: maybe you can persuade Alnilam of my RWNJ cred then. Who better than you to vouch for me?
@alnilam: any problems with a torrent, report it in the forum. You never bothered. Anyway, not going to put up a new torrent because the author’s name is in a different form. The uploader can correct that, it’s part of the description, easily changed by him if anyone cares. And obviously no one does. Contact him yourself.l
As for how politically skewed the site is, that’s purely down to what people want to post. You and rmoor, for instance, have posted dozens of conspiracy fodder and Trump hagiographies the last few years.
Looking at the Political category, of the last 40 posted, about 10 are your kind of loony right wing screeds, 2 or 3 might be considered left leaning, the rest seem fairly neutral, like the Economist.
If you looked at the forum, you’d see more complaints about the amount of harem and gay romance books. But again, if someone wants to post it, they can. As long as it’s not Holocaust denial, or has technical issues, is damaged, incomplete, or a dupe. The first is a recent rule because of the Nazi who keeps posting his crap here, the other rules have been in force about a decade.
And that’s all folks.
Climbing out of this rabbit hole and leaving you to it.

> any problems with a torrent, report it in the forum. You never bothered.
At some point, I bothered enough to realize it simply does not work, not for me anyway. More to the point, there was just enough mockery, censorship and sick jokes, related to both my posts and to me personally. So, at the time I had every conceivable reason to cancel my participation and forget about that part of the site, euphemistically called “forum for discussion”.
> The uploader can correct that, it’s part of the description, easily changed by him if anyone cares. And obviously no one does. Contact him yourself.
No, I will not. In particular, because that uploader is likely some kind of automaton or script, and not a real person, and I have my doubts about you being unaware. My comment under that post perfectly qualifies as both a reasonable question and a request to correct the author’s name. No one bothered, including admins/mods — who, incidentally, tend to pay enough attention and read all posts and comments, and every now and then act instantaneously and on their own, without being asked or prodded. So, this is where I choose to stop jumping through any carefully constructed bureaucratic hoops.
> And that’s all folks. Climbing out of this rabbit hole and leaving you to it.
Really? Just when we touched a few really interesting topics. I was even hoping to get some real answers, not to confuse with any suddenly sober and neutral evasions. Anyway, as you wish. You’ve had your little show trial, in essence suspiciously resembling some other show trials in recent history, albeit on a smaller scale. Again, based on false premises, distortions of reality, and heavy political bias, among other unsavory things. As in case with “forum for discussion”, I hope it was worth it.

I don’t know why Gweilo, or anyone else, ever bothers with you. People like you are why I’m certain we’re going to have a civil war.
