Published in 1797, the Critique of Pure Reason is considered to be one of the foremost philosophical works ever written. In the Critique of Pure Reason, Immanuel Kant explores the foundation of human knowledge and its limits, as well as man’s ability to engage in metaphysics.
The Critique builds on the works of famous philosophers such as John Locke and David Hume, but Kant takes their ideas further. Kant delves into new ideas concerning time and space and how human knowledge relates to cause and effect. Kant’s ideas were unique for his time in that he believed that human knowledge did not conform to objects but that objects conformed to human knowledge. It was also
Kant’s view that humans were born with some prior knowledge that might also be termed intuition and that additional knowledge was gained through life experience.

A little light bedtime reading!

Light reading indeed! I am still uncertain about how well philosophy books lend themselves to the audiobook format, to be honest. I personally prefer printed tomes, but I found these so decided to upload anyway. Thought someone might appreciate them. :)

No, it’s great, especially for visually-challenged types. But for a philosophy novice, in order not to abandon the whole enterprise in (self) disgust, it might be advisable for prospective listeners to do a bit of preparation before this one.

Being a bit lysdexic myself, it is great to be able to listen faster than I can read.

Every once in a while a good reader can clarify and enhance a difficult book. I remember not being able to understand something from Daniel Dennett, quitting the printed book twice. However, a talented reader was able to parse the sentences in a way that made them crystal clear. Wow. Cross-fingers on this very difficult book.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. While I appreciate the librivox recording, I’ve waited for a professional one far too long
