  By todays standards, ofc it wasn’t anything close to multicultural etc.. Its just that for the times it was probably more so than any other place since it was at that time a crossroads for so many different peoples.

  There are two sorts of history books — those that strive to uncover the objective facts, and those that are pushing a political point of view and modern agenda by selectively picking and distorting the facts.

  Most of what we get these days is the second type, justified by a claim that there is no objective truth, and everything is about power and hierarchy. (Thanks Foucolt & Derrida!)

  Which of the two sorts is this one? Well… I’d want to read it first before venturing an opinion.

  After all, it’s usually best honestly to try to get objective facts before having an opinion.

  conflict began after 150 years of conquest. by the man named Ölog. his book literally says go to their mosque and bash their prophet. christians did not even know what islam was they thought it was another form of Arius Christianity. this later got bigger. but no historian can answer why the conflict began between the who after 150 years!

  Modern Zionists are doing everything to conceal the fact that Islam is the religion for all mankind. But Muslims today aren’t united and don’t have influence in western media. The term western comes from Muslim Spain. Islamic Spain is a very long time. America 200 years old. Muslims in Spain invented universities, street lights, huge science and mathematical work, while Europe was in dark ages. Then when the fake Christians started their war, the Jews knew that they could die or convert, or go to morocco and other places. How did Jews thrive….well, these were real Jews and Christians, not AshkeNazis or trinity Christians.

  Wow, these comments are hilarious. This book doesn’t have a` political stance. IT is about the Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba. It was a cultural and economic powerhouse but its reputation for tolerance is exaggerated. I+ mean, how could you fully trust the catholic community while you are defending against a war of liberation? The Caliphate was also a den of vipers, with intrigue to match the worst of the Byzantine court.
