The definitive firsthand account of the movement that permanently broke the American political consensus.
What do internet trolls, economic populists, white nationalists, techno-anarchists, and Alex Jones have in common? Nothing, except for an unremitting hatred of evangelical progressivism and the so-called “Cathedral” from whence it pours forth.
Contrary to the dissembling explanations from the corporate press, this movement did not emerge overnight - nor are its varied subgroups in any sense interchangeable with one another. As united by their opposition as they are divided by their goals, the members of the New Right are willfully suspicious of those in the mainstream who would seek to tell their story. Fortunately, author Michael Malice was there from the very inception, and in The New Right recounts their tale from the beginning.
Malice provides an authoritative and unbiased portrait of the New Right as a movement of ideas - ideas that he traces to surprisingly diverse ideological roots. From the heterodox right wing of the 1940s to the Buchanan/Rothbard alliance of 1992 and all the way through to what he witnessed personally in Charlottesville, The New Right is a thorough firsthand accounting of the concepts, characters and chronology of this widely misunderstood sociopolitical phenomenon.
Today’s fringe is tomorrow’s orthodoxy. As entertaining as it is informative, The New Right is required listening for every American across the spectrum who would like to learn more about the past, present and future of our divided political culture.

As long as the extreme right and extreme left remain extremely Balkanised & factionalised, there’s hope. If they realise that they have more in common than that which divides them, you’re in deep ordure. To the margins with ‘em! (Although, the author’s could be a Malicious account, for those into their nominative determinism)

The destruction of the middle class is causing it. The middle class becoming poor are seeking radical change, either right or left. The wealthy and comfortable (Rino Bushies, Democrat Clinton(Biden?)-types) are trying to stop them. The left blaming right wing nuts/Fox news is incorrect, they should look at their own party rigging Sanders defeat.

One star for trying to dismiss the concept of the Cathedral as a crackpot theory without argument despite it being so obviously real and here and encountered every day.

Maybe I haven’t gotten far enough in, but…what does he say that makes you think he dismisses the concept of the Cathedral?

As if the New Right is a bad thing. Patriots, the working class and people with a sense of pride in their nation. Its made of of all ethnic groups, males and females, gays and straights. In spite of the msm, Big Tech’s and the Democrats attempt to de-legitimize them, the New Right is becoming stronger, more united and cohesive. We’re taking back this country from the sellouts, to the traitors, and to those who wish to weaken or harm this great nation. The New Right is not “fringe”, its mainstream, and growing. The movement reminds of that movie, Network. A famous quote from the movie pretty much sums up the “new right’s” stance “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore”!

@jon.jbm - I think the cited Cathedral concept is metaphorical: “evangelical progressivism and the so-called “Cathedral” from whence it pours forth.”
Everyone loves a good cathedral.

No, not at all. All they have to do is read the msm garbage of lies and they pretty come to the same conclusions. Boring? One, sentence from you as some sort of dismissal, and that sums up your position. I think its you who is boring. Or, is that the sort of thinking that is allowed in your circles?
How about a little critical thinking on your part, if your’re capable that is. Maybe a book titled “The Wit and Wisdom of China Joe Biden” is more to your liking.
