According to Guinness World Records, the verified record lifespan of any dog was 29 years, 5 months and 25 days. I’m a bit sceptical about that as it was between 1910 and 1939 and also in rural Australia. I really doubt they kept such accurate records back then. It would be so easy to switch dogs. The dog was a female Austalian cattle dog, aka a Blue Heeler, named “Bluey”. I gues Aussies weren’t very imaginative back then when it came to dog names. Also, being a working rural dog, it would be at constant risk of snake bite, ticks and other hazards to its health.

Hey Acanthrohu maybe the dog was given as a puppy on a child’s birthday and loved and cared for for nearly 30 years- there is your accuracy.
Typical child’s name for a dog. Do you have a dog? ‘MichaelAngelo’ maybe?
Kids and dogs - no matter where and no matter when - its a good relationship.
I like to think that it is true. :-)
