Olympia Dukakis passed away recently. I don’t have anything to share of hers exactly, but for nearly 30 years now she is who I picture when I think of Anna.

BBC radio’s Tales of the City adaptations were (mostly) hopelessly inadequate. Trying to cram one or even two novels down to fit five 13 minute episodes was a hiding to nothing. Far too much cut out. The one shining exception being this final series, which actually gets the time to do it justice.
