  Thanks for the upload. It is greatly appreciated. It would be nice if it was in MP3, but all (most, anyway) files can be converted and cut down into more manageable chapters. Again, many thanks.

  I used to upload both. However, I find the .m4b format superior in many ways and very much usable on an Android device. I also very much dislike having multiple files per book. It is just a waste to me (and most others using modern audio book players). If the source files come to me chaptered, the M4Bs will be chaptered as well. It is unlikely you will get smaller files in any other universal file format.

  These books are fantastic! Be warned, once you start you will not be able to stop! ‘Steel World’ by the same author is also worth a read/listen.

  BobbyBigGuns, exellent upload!!! FINALLY someone here knows how to PROPERLY convert Audible audiobooks at the PROPER ORIGINAL BITRATES! And finally, you sre NOT someone who like many here at ABB that UPCONVERTS the audiobooks from Audible (the only place these are available btw, so I know they are ripped at the original bitrate from Audible) into crazy high sizes that make the download take longer, the quality worse, and the filesizes ridiculous. 32k is PERFECT and about right for audiobooks, if anyone says otherwise, they clearly know nothing about spoken word recordings. There is a reason why Audible, the number ONE seller in the world of audiobooks has their bitrates set at 32kbps/22050hz sample rates…because they KNOW what works! Great job, and to the bitchy person above who wants CHAPTERS, do it yourself, there is no need for chaptered, NUMEROUS files in audiobooks these days bro. EVERY device out there remembers your place anyway, plus SMART AUDIOBOOK PLAYER is the best gawd damn app on the market, and these M4B files are ready for iTunes and Apple products…so the best of both worlds! PERFECT upload Bobby, as someone who personally has ripped over 400 audible audiobooks, I can say that you are at least one person who knows what they are doing around here!!!

  Nice story there, Beetlejuice.

  These seem more like 16kbps than 32kbps, but at least it is variable bitrate.

  The sound quality is tolerable but not great, I expect the original Audible files to have less artifacts and sound less tinny.

  Still, looking forward to listening to them. Thanks for sharing.

  Thanks for putting this collection together Bobby. I’ve been looking for quality full set of this series. Thank you.
  Everyone knows I’m a proponent of 32k either MP3 or M$a. M4a is just a container that typically contains ACC coded data or apples ALAC but there are many supported audio codecs for mp4. M4a being the “audio only” variant. ACC does produce clearer audio particularly at low bit rates; and is relatively equal in file size. I’ve always used mp3 because it is debatebly the universal standard. Perhaps it’s time to let it go and Tecumseh’s right, it’s easy to find a simple converter like Freemake if you need it.

  iTunes can convert these to MP3 as well. What strikes me as odd is people complaining. You have choices. Heck, you can even purchase these titles and do what you want with any bit rate, format conversion method, etc. This is what I am providing and this is how I listen to my audio books.

  The audio is not all that good. Even playing with the EQ in Smart Audiobook Player didn’t help all that much. Listen to the sample on Audible and you’ll hear what I mean when compared to this upload.

  I’d give it a 6 out of 10 for audio quality.
