320 is just fine. For people that want a smaller file, covert it down and shut the fuck up. This is for people that desire quality. Great job Han keep up the good work.

320 is not quality for narration, it’s absurdity = (wildly unreasonable, illogical, or inappropriate).
The following is from Audible and since these guys are in the business of audiobooks, let’s just assume they know more about the requirements than RayC1 when it comes to recording and distributing Audiobooks.
The Audible format (represented by the file extension .aa, .aax, and .aax+) is a proprietary audio scheme developed by Audible, Inc. It is specifically designed for the secure distribution and use of audiobooks on various software and hardware devices. There are several different Audible formats that are in use which cover a wide range of encoded bitrates. This selection of sound quality levels is designed to give you maximum choice on the sound quality level you want to download your purchased audiobook at. This flexibility is also useful to have when you have an older portable hardware device that doesn’t support certain Audible bitrates or you need to limit the size of audiobook files due to storage space constraints. The current Audible formats are:
Format 2 (.AA): this has a bitrate of 8 Kbps and its sound quality is classed as AM radio.
Format 3 (.AA): the bitrate for this format is 16 kbps and produces sound that is on a par with FM radio.
Format 4 (.AA): Sound at this level is encoded at 32 kbps and the quality of sound is categorized at standard MP3 level.
Enhanced Audio (.AAX / .AAX+): this format has the highest Audible bitrate of 64 kbps and is deemed as having CD quality sound.
I encode all the books I share at 32k mono. It sounds great to me on my headphones and my 7.1 surround system.

RayC1 I’m with you fella, I’d prefer the sound quality to be as crisp as possible, I’d feel different for a music file that was overly large as its normally kept on your phone or mp3 device to listen to again and again so takes up space, when its a book that is deleted off of said device once listened to I prefer the better quality files. ~T

Time to get out of the 60’s and into the present, 32kbps is crap and as for full cast audiobooks, then 320kbps is perfect. If you have a problem then diont d/l it, or corvert it to what YOU want and lets us enjoy quality.
PS your quote from Audible sounds like it from pre-ww1 years and even if it’s JUST talking, 32 is still too low, at least 128 with just talking without sound effects etc.

Tks a bunch! Been looking everywhere. I was listening to iton youtube every time, but then they were all goone. Downloading now. Wish me luck. This is my favorite trilogy in all of SW EU/L!!! No where else do we get to spend so much time with an amazing Dark Lord of the Sith!
