This was so much fun! I wanted something I could listen to that would entertain without challenge, a book I could enjoy while doing chores. This was a blast! While every bit as much “too young” for my usual taste as I supposed (more so — it wouldn’t be inappropriate for 4th graders!) the hero, though plucky, is never “cute”, the writing is sharp and the plot is wholly engaging. It’s also politically astute, conveying lessons about the malleability of truth, as passed down through history.
Thank you for introducing me to a writer I would never have otherwise discovered!
