“Signature in the Cell is a defining work in the discussion of life’s origins and the question of whether life is a product of unthinking matter or of an intelligent mind. For those who disagree with ID, the powerful case Meyer presents cannot be ignored in any honest debate. For those who may be sympathetic to ID, on the fence, or merely curious, this book is an engaging, eye-opening, and often eye-popping read” — American Spectator
Named one of the top books of 2009 by the Times Literary Supplement (London), this controversial and compelling book from Dr. Stephen C. Meyer presents a convincing new case for intelligent design (ID), based on revolutionary discoveries in science and DNA. Along the way, Meyer argues that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution as expounded in The Origin of Species did not, in fact, refute ID. If you enjoyed Francis Collins’s The Language of God, you’ll find much to ponder—about evolution, DNA, and intelligent design—in Signature in the Cell.

Shouldn’t this be listed under “Humor”?

JustRand, we were going to reserve that for the comment section.

How can it take over 600Mb to say “There is none”?

I’m more amendable to the idea of ID if the “I” part was referencing “alien” intelligence. Now, if the author say “God” was an alien…I’m also good with that.

There are problems with these files finishing. I repeatedly got ‘I/O’ errors (never seen previously) while downloading. I took the final files downloaded and manually added the correct file extensions. They appear to work okay after that. The pdf and epub open up now. And the m4b converts to mp3 without error.

Belongs under fiction.

Thank you for sharing! Love the idea of being able to support my faith. …the path is narrow.

Lots of comments from ignorant and psycho-infantile atheists here. Very sure that none of them have read the book.

If you steal this book Jesus will put you in hell!

The top reason books get trolly comments is because they are in the wrong category.
Modern political books in the History category, religious books in the science category, etc.
It seems like shoehorning on the part of the poster and generally evokes a negative response.
This thread is pretty tame, but people like JustRandy and Superbright do not want stuff like this diluting their search results when they are looking for science books, and they vent their frustration snarkily.
This does not belong in “humor” or “fiction”, it belongs under spiritual/religion and possibly misc nonfiction (though that is really best for books which fit into bo other category).
I get it, this book overlaps with sciencey stuff. But the people who want to read this book are in the spiritual/religion section, and claiming this book is scientific is at the very least a bit contraversial.
Science is pretty much a religion at this point, you cant make a great case that anything to do with studying reality is science. In the religion of science this book is heretical/pseudoscience.
It isn’t right to post science books in the spiritual/religion category, and it isn’t right to post this here.

Thank you for an intriguing-sounding book! I’s next after the Herriot book that I’. a;most finished.
This topic of Creator vs whatever really is irrelevant because creation in all it’s forms demands a Creator. For those who want to snark about God go ahead, some of us know there is a Creator God. I know it and no amount of sarcasm would ever be able to change my mind.
There are too many things that are too complex to have just ‘happened’. Greetings to all!

If you need pseudoscience or any other mumbo jumbo to prove your god exists, then you have no faith and miss the entire point by a million miles.
Faith = belief without proof.
You listen to sermons until you are capable of reading.
You read them gospels and think about their message.
Then you either don’t believe them or you have faith that they are real. The truth.
Further, if you are constantly getting angry at *anti theists* you are losing your faith or perhaps you never had any because you have yet to read the bible because you would rather spend all your time getting dopamine hits from the buffet of goodies at the secular Golden Corral. NFL on one flat screen & NASCAR on the other with the, all you can inhale, buffet in the middle. You love it. Y’all love all them secular goodies & there was no preaching required - just an OPEN sign & y’all came running.
As per usual Americans need assistance with definitions.
*Atheist = non believer That’s it, nothing more.
If a dude is bashing your religion = anti theist.
These internet militant anti theists are very loud, but they only represent a tiny sliver of atheists. Most atheists, by their nature, are not into joining loud agendas.
Y’all have been duped into thinking there’s Atheist under the bed.
*In US, atheists know religion better than believers. Is that bad?*
“The US Religious Knowledge Survey, released Tuesday from the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, found atheists and agnostics know more basic facts about the Bible than either Protestants or Catholics. Among the other findings:
• 57 percent of Protestants can name the Bible’s four gospels.”

Me? I don’t know if any creator entities exist. My obsessive curiosity has lead me to see that we only know or see enough to know we don’t know much.

Thanks for the science book. Sorry ignorant people comment so frequently on this site. Must be a bunch of losers that don’t have anything to do but complain about audio books they didn’t listen to

Anyone who thinks ID is about religion has no idea what they’re talking about.
It takes a great deal of blind faith to believe Darwinian evolution explains everything about life, just by random chance and lots of time time. The probability of all the things necessary for life to self assemble in abiotic conditions in the first place is statistically impossible even if earth were infinitely old. The improbabilities continually compound the more we learn about how much interdependent complexity exists in a single living cell. Nearly all of it is indispensable for life. There are chickens and eggs all over the place. Now that we understand something about molecular biology, the probabilities can be roughly calculated at zero, or minus 10 to the bazillion. Dawrinian evolution is a good story, but JK Rolwling could explain it much better.
