Editorial Reviews
Review
“Peppered with fun facts and cheeky asides, actor Roger Moore’s book looking back on the golden anniversary of James Bond on-screen is a treat for 007 fans. . . . No other Bond has managed to make 007 quite as charming and endearing as Moore. He brings those traits to Bond on Bond, inviting us to sit back and enjoy the ride.” – Associated Press
“The cars, the cocktails, the girls, the gadets, and, oh, the villains. Roger Moore’s Bond on Bond is a gossipy scrapbook of the British secret agent’s adventures on and off the big screen. Moore, who starred in seven Bond movies, is as debonair on the page as he is on screen, and the 400 photographs make for a first-rate bit of time travel.”—Boston Globe

A look at filmic Bond through a rather unique lens!

Format: Hardcover
“Bond on Bond” provides an informative overview of the 007 filmography - but what makes the book stand out is the fact it is written through the witty and self-effacing lens of Bond No.3, Sir Roger Moore. The book is split into sections (Women, Gadgets, Style, Vehicles, Locations, etc.) and is gorgeously illustrated. Sure, it’s a cliché to say it, but this book actually does make a great coffee table book. Glossy, fun, and informative.
There were many photos I was unfamiliar with, but as I’m not a completist on such matters, I’m not certain if some are “never before seen”. It was a pleasure to see references and images to the unofficial “Never Say Never Again” threaded throughout. After all, along with 1967’s spoof, “Casino Royale”,” Never” has an important place in the Bond lexicon. It was also interesting to read Moore’s views on the controversial casting of Daniel Craig.
Moore played Bond with a twinkle in his eye, but he was also effectively dramatic, where necessary. These qualities reflect the tone of this book. There are many amusing anecdotes (and some straight-faced one’s as well) - and you can just about hear Moore’s voice as you read them.
Last but not least, Moore provides witty captions to a large majority of the photographs. These captions were an unexpected pleasure of the book for me. The caption that accompanies a beefcake image of Daniel Craig is particularly droll.
A wonder history of 007

When you have been a fan of the James Bond movies as long as I have been, you really appreciate a book like this. Roger Moore is a true gentleman and I appreciate the behind the scenes view that he gives to the reader. As part of my career, I have worked as a movie still photographer for a number of years and yet I feel this book is a wonderful bouquet of flowers to the many fans of the 007 movies. I am happy that Mr. Moore did this book particularly in light of the fact that The new James Bond, Daniel Craig, has added a new vision of 007 that is interesting along with what is now an interesting history of the franchise.
