Something always goes sideways, but this is bigger than expected.
Maybe it’s not an entirely bad thing, though, as mana-infected animals spreading over the world would definitely make everyone more open to the idea of the apocalypse. The question is what was Silas supposed to do about it, though.
He still couldn’t tell anyone who wasn’t inducted about the system. It was time to get creative. If that wasn’t enough, though, he still had the wild hunt hanging over his head. Seven days to go, and then he’d be thrown into whatever twisted event the system had cooked up for him. The only good thing was that he had those seven days to train. He might not be the highest leveled of the Forerunners, but his mentor made sure he had the best foundation. He could only grow stronger from here.

Can’t complain about Travis, spectacular as always
Story: 2/10
Generic worldbuilding. Minus points for consistency. LVl 10 MC kills 13 lvl 100 monsters, he gains a level. Someone else kills a lvl 30 bug, they gain 25 levels. Stats don’t make sense. Pressure from lvl 10 boss with 60 willpower makes MC faint. Later in the story, other rando lvl 1s facing MC with 500 willpower tell him to F off with no problem. These stats are made up as an example to not ruin plot but example stands. Book 3 is worse because MC goes through years of “intense” training but newly initiated have more insight, better battle sense and more idea how to use their powers in a day compared to MC.
Characters: 1/10
The MC is Ok. His battle sense is trash, the author plot armors his decisions too much for us to respect his decision making skills.
