The Presedential pardon and commutation power is another example of how corrupt American political system is. Bill Clinton pardoned 450 people. This is true for Dems. and Repubs.equally. Reagan pardoned 393, Carter 534, Obama 1,937 Trump is up to 37 so far. Alot of these people are big donors to campaigns and well connected friends.

A 20 year old “scandal”. Seems timed to provide some whataboutism cover for Trump’s pardons. Whatever motives Clinton had, he wasn’t rewarding criminals for not testifying against him, or pardoning murdering war criminals who would endorse him.

@Nomad860, in most cases the Presidential pardon is used to commute sentences for prisoners’ whose sentences exceed reasonable time frames.
Yes, some Presidents have abused the privilege by pardoning politically connected people and/or big donors, but for the most part it’s not a heavily abused privilege.
One his last day in office, Bill Clinton pardoned 120 people, including terrorists, a drug czar, a tax evader, political cronies, his wife’s former secretary who refused to testify during the Whitewater hearings.
Marc Rich, who owed $46M in taxes, Bill Clinton received from Marc’s ex-wife $800,000 to his library fund, and Hillary received $200,000 for her senatorial race fund.
A special prosecutor was called in to investigate the the pardons. Any guess who it was? His name was James Comey. How convenient it was for him to be able to bail out Hillary in July 2016 like he did for Bill & Hillary in 2001.

PARDONGATE! Lol, the validity of this “scandal” aside, you guys should really stop naming these Democratic scandals after an actual legitimate Republican scandal. I mean, why immediately remind everyone that the only President to resign from office in shame was a Republican, and less than 50 years ago?

I doubt there is any basis for the wads of cash shown on the cover. The Republicans have had 20 years to prosecute them for it; despite going after them for every other whacky conspiracy.
However sleazy some recipients were, unlike Trump, Clinton didn’t pardon people who could have testified against him, and/or who had committed serious crimes in his service.

::Waiting On overdue Book to be written on ‘How to become wealthy, relevant or preserve relevancy, using manufactured-villainy to write about The Clintons ‘ Sheesh, 19 years out of office, 400 books, most have make fleeting visit to best-seller list, then oblivion. Like the Chief editor at Knopf publishing and literary critics said: “It is a lucrative business, writing in the Clinton genre.” LMAO. All inconsequential political pundits, ferociously holding on & delaying their inevitable trip to political & media hospice, this is the route they take. Using long debunked, beaten to death, rusted narratives. The same trend proceeds with Barack and no doubt Trump. If only most readers did their due diligence in asking quality questions and to test the integrity of these literature, such as who funded these insolvent writer’s book & used their heavy influence to get it published, they’d be very surprised and angry for the waste of time. But then again some people do not read for enlightenment and the positive use of acquired enlightenment; nooo they read what supports their unchangeable opinion and fixed thinking…ALL detrimental to developing critical analysis, objective thinking , productive thinking and worse: Open, proper respectful & productive dialogue, multi-logue not an echo chamber of Monologues.

BTW, the exercising of Article 2, Section 2 of The Constitution, by The Presidents can’t be corrupted, empirically speaking; because it clearly stipulates it is unquestionable, and irreversible. Therefore through that virtue alone, to call it corrupt etc., can only be taken as OPINION, not fact. NOW, if, like someone in this thread said, the whole Power of Presidential Pardons is a ‘corrupt feature’ he/she has a legitimate more objective argument. But the die is cast it is what is, a power they have LEGALLY, so how can it be a corrupt act by they who exercise this power vested in them???? You may call into question their motives on who/why they anoint pardoned, but never the legality of it. BTW, a power or policy that is Legal, does not mean is Just, Moral, fair or to the benefit of the people. Legion are the unjust and immoral legislations that are LEGAL,or legal acts.

Crikey, G - uve major point! Anyway, we can all agree that it’s time that the Clinton’s name being a byword for graft, filth & political corruption - it’s high time that culminated & concluded! As Bill said regarding Israel, he would do anything for that Holy Land, short of being circumcised. We must be equally supportive of the nefarious Clinton hydra.
I furthermore believe that no politician has ever received a bribe. We should start trusting these politician johnnies again, dammit. As a very prudent gesture of good will, I have decided to send several brown packages stuffed with small, unmarked bills (or large, marked bills if they want to go that route - most prefer that, I’m told) to selected shady political representatives. Pour encourager les autres. Someone has to get the honesty ball rollin’!
