Bummer was just coming in to say. If you haven’t read any William Gibson. You should check this out. But if it’s not good quality. Im sure you can get his complete works here somewhere.

The torrent says it’s a low quality tape rip and is a novelty cause Gibson is reading it.
What do you expect?
Why leave the uploader a bad review when it’s exactly as he described and all the more interesting for it.

It’s not THAT bad quality - you can listen to it and it is (in my opinion) always interesting to hear an author read their own work: Stephen King is great reading his own books, Neil Gaiman too.
So yeah, it could do with Dolby B (because it’s from a tape) but otherwise I didn’t think it was too bad. I’ve heard worse and as commented - it’s interesting.
Thanks for uploading this one. I enjoyed it.

I adored this. This is a book I have read many many times. To get to hear the maestro himself, at the top of his game, read it, brings it to life one more time for me. Thank you.

It’s not a pretty listen, and William Gibson is not the most gifted voice actor. It is interesting to hear him read it. However, if you’ve not read it before I’d recommend another, higher quality version.

this is indeed pretty bad audio - just barely on the right side of listen-to-able. but the release is pretty cool: a 90’s cassette reading with some music & SFX read by the author is one hell of a cultural artifact. luckily there is…

the cassette tapes have been ripped in as-good-as-possible/feasible to archive.org, in MP3 (~100kbps, 44k Hz) and even FLAC/WAV (though that is surely overkill, we are talking about audio cassette after all)
