Sophisticated embezzlement & creative theft/accountancy are entirely recent phenomena? That sounds about right. We need to rid ourselves of this set of thieves & crooks, and replace them with a wholly new class of, er, thieves & crooks.
It’s the only way we can achieve a straight up 360 degree switcheroo!

Neoliberal regimes are not democracies.
In modern neoliberal regimes government trade/tax policy is not subject to the will of the people. In a real democracy economic policy is subject to the will of the people.
We live in a plutocracy.
