In Life’s Work, an outspoken Christian reproductive justice advocate and abortion provider (one of the few doctors to provide such services to women in Mississippi and Alabama) pulls from his personal and professional journeys as well as the scientific training he received as a doctor to reveal how he came to believe, unequivocally, that helping women in need, without judgment, is precisely the Christian thing to do.
Dr. Willie Parker grew up in the Deep South, lived in a Christian household, and converted to an even more fundamentalist form of Christianity as a young man. But upon reading an interpretation of the Good Samaritan in a sermon by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., he realized that in order to be a true Christian, he must show compassion for all women regardless of their needs. In 2009 he stopped practicing obstetrics to focus entirely on providing safe abortions for the women who need help the most - often women in poverty and women of color - and in the hotbed of the pro-choice debate: the South. He soon thereafter traded in his private practice and his penthouse apartment in Hawaii for the life of an itinerant abortion provider, focusing most recently on women in the Deep South.
In Life’s Work, Dr. Willie Parker tells a deeply personal and thought-provoking narrative that illuminates the complex societal, political, religious, and personal realities of abortion in the United States from the unique perspective of someone who performs them and defends the right to do so every day. He also looks at how a new wave of anti-abortion activism, aimed at making incremental changes in laws and regulations state by state, are slowly chipping away at the rights of women to control their own lives. In revealing his daily battle against mandatory waiting periods and bogus rules governing the width of hallways, Dr. Parker uncovers the growing number of strings attached to the right to choose and makes a powerful Christian case for championing reproductive rights.

Apparently men don’t have a choice to keep the baby, but they are liable to pay child support if the mother wants to keep the baby? Unless the pregnancy was forced out of some criminal action, I don’t know how Christians or anyone else can in good conscience can justify this behavior? As if it is as base and vulgar as a change of mind on a clothes purchase?

Pro lifers are all climate change deniers which is funny since today’s babies are going to have short adult hoods if they even make it.
That horror show in Hawaii, would be an unremarkable fire if not for climate change.
So far $5 billion in cost/damage & they always go up, about a hundred dead & 1300 ‘missing which is code for burned to hell {I hope the smoke got them before the flames}.
Good work climate changer deniers. Put aside emissions for a moment. Your efforts to date have resulted in America being the 2nd most unprepared nation in shoring up the defenses to protect the people, homes, businesses & critical infrastructure. Your tireless efforts have insured the disaster capitalists get the biggest contracts possible. If tax dollars were spent to be prepared for these ever more powerful & destructive climate Jacked disasters, billions in post clean up, repair-rebuild contracts would not be needed & whoever is rewarding the contracts gains more power & wealth. After Hurricane Maria a 2 person electrical contractor was awarded a $300 million contract to help rebuild Puerto Rico’s electricity grid (no it wasn’t Hunter Biden, but it’s the same 1 party DC den of thieves MO).
Bottom line on denial is it ensures that Americans & their towns will suffer the max amount of damage, suffering & die sooner than need be.
America’s enemies love climate change deniers. And if you think positive about deniers, they are helping to make everyone’s problems go away…forever.
In a couple of decades abortions will be a mercy.

How about make abortion a two-strike affair: you get one pass for your unprepredness, but if you go in a second time without exceptional circumstance, you get sterilized. No?

@Mantic
Who else would you like to sterilize? How long till you arrive at “those who don’t show suitable respect to the leader”?
