Recent years have seen a revival of the heated culture wars of the 1990s, but this time its battleground is the Internet. On one side the alt-right ranges from the once obscure neo-reactionary and white separatist movements, to geeky subcultures like 4chan, to more mainstream manifestations such as the Trump-supporting gay libertarian Milo Yiannopolous.
On the other side, a culture of struggle sessions and virtue signaling lurks behind a therapeutic language of trigger warnings and safe spaces. The feminist side of the online culture wars has its equally geeky subcultures right through to its mainstream expression.
Kill All Normies explores some of the cultural genealogies and past parallels of these styles and subcultures, drawing from transgressive styles of 60s libertinism and conservative movements, to make the case for a rejection of the perpetual cultural turn.

Surprisingly good listen. It explores the wild extremes of both sides of the online cultural wars. As a left-leaning person, I was shocked to hear the wild, endless list of genders the author found on tumblr. It made me think, No wonder these right wingers get so cynical and pissed off about this kind of stuff; they must think we actually all believe in it. I think the truth is that both sides of the political divide are closer to the middle than we realize, but that as this book illustrates, the voices of the extremes are loud, wide-reaching and command the most attention through their sensationalism, drowning out attempts at reasonable discourse.

This is not a “pro alt right” book. Did you listen to it? What aspects of it did you think were pro alt right? I did not get that at all from the text. This is more of an academic type discussion of what is going on in the online culture wars.

Your logical fallacy is the middleground fallacy, or argument from moderation. Look into it.
There is no comparison. Even neuroscience proves alt-right Trumptards reason more emotionally than non-conservatives, and have heightened paranoia and fear - based reasoning.
Differences in intelligence have been ubiquitously observed, using myriad metrics and standards (not just IQ).
Enjoy the midterms, alt right virgins. And hey, quit running over women with cars just because they want nothing to do with you. You’re an intellectual degenerate and desperate Trumptard. Can you blame them? ;)

I am not remotely a Trump supporter. I will be voting for democratic candidates in the midterms and can’t wait. I literally wish it was tomorrow so we could immediately more constraints on him. I was speaking about this book, which I have read/listened to, and how it covers the real extremes of the online culture wars, and how I at least think that most people (ok, we can set aside the 30% or so who will follow Trump no matter what, even if he shoots someone on 5th avenue, like he says) have reasonable positions on issues or are at least capable of having a civil discussion with someone who has an opposing viewpoint on some issue. Have a good day, and please be kind and compassionate. I know this is the internet but still.

It’s always amazing how cocky alt-right trump cultists get given their candidate “won” by getting more than 3 million less votes than Hillary Clinton - perhaps the least popular candidate in modern history. But yeah, keep thinking you’re championing some silent majority. Democrats have a tendency to screw up elections they should easily win, so they really need your brand of arrogance to overwhelm all of the voter suppression techniques Republicans are madly trying to put into place.

It’s hilarious how those who oppose the message of this book simply make the emotional argument instead of presenting any valid argument. And by using terms like “trumptard” you’re only proving one of its points.
