Acclaimed Israeli intelligence analyst Avi Melamed has spent more than 30 years interpreting Middle East affairs. His long-awaited Inside the Middle East challenges widely accepted perceptions and provides a gripping and uniquely enlightening guide to make sense of the events unfolding in the region.
Melamed considers all the major power players in the Middle East, explains the underlying issues, and creates a three-dimensional picture, an illustration that connects the dots and provides a fascinating road map. He elucidates developments such as the Arab Spring, the downfall of the Muslim Brotherhood, the rise of ISIS, the epic Sunni-Shiite animosity, the essence of the war in Syria, the role of the Caliphate and Jihad, and the looming nuclear arms race. He also provides a rare opportunity to journey into the psyche of Arab society.
This unparalleled volume is a milestone in our understanding of the Middle East. It is the untold story of the struggles that will shape the region, and the world, for decades to come, and a groundbreaking guide that will shake you to the core, force you to reevaluate your outlook, and give you tips to navigate the future.

I’m looking for a good… unbiased book on the middle east conflict especially the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. This book seems one sided, we all know that Israel’s think that Muslims are terrible! I didn’t get thorough the entire book but that was the jist of what I got so far. Can anyone recommend something interesting and unbiased?

The best you can get is an old course of the TTC by Prof James Gelvin, Palestine, Zionism, and the Arab-Israeli Conflict . The problem is, even on the official site of the teaching company ( the great courses), it is not listed anymore !!!
Good luck finding it.
Alternative is Ilan Pappe : The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine.

The term “Palestinian” is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Mediterranean tribe, the Philistines, who settled around Gaza (arguably came from Crete or North Africa) and were in constant battle against the indigenous Jews and Egyptians some 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. Romans, in order to conceal their anger with rebellious regions, changed the references to the regions by calling them, Syria Palaestina and Palaestina Prima . The Arab invaders of the 630s C.E. changed the name to Jund Filastin, and later Filastin.

This book tries very hard to leave bias behind, despite being written by an Israeli. Indeed, the common narrative of blaming everything wrong with the arab world on Israel and the US is idiocy.

Learning about Middle East from a Zionist author is like hearing the truth from Yossi Landau or Netanyahu. LOL!
