Public debts have exploded to levels unprecedented in modern history as governments responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing economic crisis. Their dramatic rise has prompted apocalyptic warnings about the dangers of heavy debts—about the drag they will place on economic growth and the burden they represent for future generations.
Authors Barry Eichengreen, Asmaa El-Ganainy, Rui Esteves, and Kris James Mitchener argue that the ability of governments to issue debt has played a critical role in addressing emergencies—from wars and pandemics to economic and financial crises, as well as in funding essential public goods and services such as transportation, education, and healthcare.
None of this is to deny that debt problems, debt crises, and debt defaults occur. But these dramatic events, which attract much attention, are not the entire story. In Defense of Public Debt redresses the balance. They deploy a comprehensive database to identify the factors behind rising public debts and the circumstances under which high debts are successfully stabilized and brought down. Finally, they bring the story up to date, describing the role of public debt in managing the COVID-19 pandemic and recession, suggesting a way forward once governments finally emerge from the crisis.

How on earth do you find these propagandized pro-establishment narratives?
I would never have believed there even were books to address all these nuanced issues.
Is this for real?
This book is trying justify the insane government spending that is burying the country while also being weaponized against and levied upon the tax payer. As well as, trying to add credence to our central bank’s economic system in which the entire thing is based on creating money through issuing debt.
You either are working for the establishment or should be, or you have to be one of the most brainwashed and unwitting fools in today’s modern age.
I don’t whether to pity you or fear you

I know my criticisms seem hyperbolic and cliche. You actually shared a book I wanted to read today but I can’t think of another way to address the sheer amount of (what seems like to me) very non-overt administrative state narratives. I sure (not sure) you are a fine person but you have knack for conformity (I am sure you see it as quite the opposite) with the much deeper tenants of uni-party desires. Or at least that is how it appears assuming the books you share here are books that you also find interesting personally.
Anyway, I don’t like sounding so cliche. I used to think I was a rebel too while being very much not, and it that resentment that is also unfairly being leveled at you. Maybe you should try to think a little further down range of what the deeper implications of books and how the message might fit into less obvious operations.
I’ll try not to be cliche

I only share books written by professors. I couldn’t possible even attempt to read all the books I share. If you want a “non conformity” book I’m sure you”ll find this book interesting.

No MrPride,
That’s the exact opposite of what these goobers wants from you. They want you to conform to their reactionary ideology.

Mr. Pride, thank you. After finals I finally had time to listen but I couldn’t find it again until now. I did find this book interesting, I also found it disturbing, but either way, definitely worth the read.
I haven’t seen you around lately and Im actually wishing I would.

Outstanding economists give an overview of the historical role of debt in economic planning and reaction to disaster. For the low-brow gullible who live in the FoxNew/JoeRogan/TimPoole sphere to-be-blunt won’t understand the concepts describe–the reviews here bear that out well.
This is excellent economic analysis from the not-right-wing-nutjobs or “tHaTz sOcIaLiSmz” school of economics.
Economics and econometrics are difficult, books can be hard, thinking is hard; Read this & deal with it. Or continue to spout low-IQ mutterings from right-wing dumb-O-sphere. 🤣
