Is god? would be a better question.

You have to reconfirm your faith. As we all know if you don’t you might conclude that you need a God a lot more than any God needs you.
No, I believe that Man created God so he would not feel alone in this vast universe.
Yet this book asks a good question. If there is an all-powerful God. Why does he let an innocent child die in horrible ways all over the world? Why does he turn away from the heartfelt prayers of a little child as he is beaten by his abusive father?
I learnt the hard way prayers and gods love is a myth.

Here’s a question I can’t find a positive answer to. We all know the story of Noah & the Flood in the Bible. In this story, Noah, his wife, his four sons & their wives, along with animals 2 by 2 embark on an ark (there are over 450,000 species of beetles - what must it have been like with over 900,000 beetles running riot everywhere?). God inflicts 40 days of rain, submerging every bit of land on earth. Why would a “good” god drown the entire human race, from the elderly to the newborns (& the fetuses in pregnant mothers), including millions who have never even heard of him & his laws - except for 10 people of one family? The only word humanity has ever come up with for such an act is GENOCIDE.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

I don’t wanna spoil Epicurus’ ancient fun, but evil is a consequence of freedom.
However, outside of a religious frame of values, there is no objective evil, no objective good, no objective values, & no free will whatsoever. Only unfree, material phenomena.
This necessarily renders Epicurus’ challenge null/void.
As for your honest question, to which you’ve never managed an honest answer, as St. Augustine observed (abt 1600 yrs ago now), the worst approach to Genesis is that of literal interpretation. Or, LITERAL INTERPRETATION.

The problem of evil is not an easy one to answer. To me, it goes something like this. God and sin can’t coexist, because he is the opposite of it. So at times, for us to get closer to him, part of us has to die. Or some of us have to die. Although before Jesus died for our sins, there was a lot more of the us dying part happening. Jesus’ blood covered a multitude of sins. Also, I think it’s easy and natural for us to say that God doesn’t line up with what we think of as “good”. Of course, these intellectual objections have to be answered before we can get to know him personally and literally experience how good he is in our own lives. But there are plenty of situations that we deal with in our everyday lives where we question whether or not we are good. Consider the trolley problem. Would we say the person making this choice was bad because he took an action that led to people dying? I would say the fact is, we simply aren’t smart enough to define what is good in the context of a being that is all powerful. One person’s good is another person’s bad. We put a sex offender in prison, but to him he was doing what came naturally. If you believe he is good and experience him for yourself, you will understand how good he really is.
