Ibn Badis est un érudit pluridisciplinaire, un exégète, un traditionniste, un jurisconsulte… mais ce n’est pas un théologien comme les autres. Éclairé, visionnaire et influent, il est l’un des pères du nationalisme algérien et surtout celui qui a semé la graine de la révolution contre le système colonial français. En effet, son rôle dans la prise de conscience par le peuple algérien de son identité a été décisif dans le chemin qui mènera l’Algérie vers l’indépendance en 1962. C’est lui qui a initié le courant réformiste en Algérie en appelant à la nécessité de s’appuyer sur les vrais piliers, à savoir le Saint Coran et la sunna bien sûr, mais aussi la liberté, le savoir et la science….
