If you are a vegan, you’ll know all too well how provocative it can be - you never know when you’ll be challenged or how. But being able to face down and rebut arguments against veganism is hugely important. Not just because many of the arguments lack substance, but because every interaction provides a pivotal moment to create change.
How to Argue With a Meat Eater will teach you to not only become a skilled debater, sharing the secrets of renowned vegan educator Ed Winters, but it will arm you with powerful facts and insights that will give pause to even the most devout meat eater.
Providing you with the knowledge to become a better conversationalist and critical thinker, and the motivation to create a more ethical, kind and sustainable world, let this book be your guide and inspiration to know that, no matter what the argument, you can win every time.

Lets see who has the skills. Im a hippie but I eat meat. not a ton of it. but i love a good steak. the rest of my family is vegan. convince me. lets see. I worked on farms i know all the horrible things they do like the ports in their stomachs that they shove bags of antibiotics and growth hormones into. But that’s the price to pay to not hunt clean and prep your own food.

I have noticed that a specific subset of the vegan community considers it a “win” to flip the table and storm off after having lost the argument. This is not to say that it’s right or reasonable to mock them, or any group, for their dietary preferences, but yeah, logical argument isn’t really their thing. They get especially mad when I debunk them with peer reviewed dietary outcome studies in children and animals. Or the fact that the reason a lot of the world raises animals instead of growing crops is that animals can forage where crops can’t grow. Or the fact that we couldn’t just eat what we feed to animals. Or the fact that we can’t just replace what we grow for animals with wheat or something people can eat in most cases. Then I mention crop field deaths and ask for an estimate of deaths per day from their diet versus mine and they go away.
Of course, the vegans who don’t try to tell me to follow a diet that makes me feel physically ill get none of this. Them I make and share vegan recipes with.

@erouting: Nice, very nice. I agree with you 110%.
I too have friends who are on a strict plant diet but, don’t force it on others at all….even got a great chili recipe using jack fruit from them.
Other’s are what a friend of mine said, give us plant eaters and lovers a real bad name.
I grew up on a large farm and we raised cattle (free range I think they call it now). 100 acres was their field and, we gave them any cutoffs or peels from the garden that we couldn’t eat. Cattle aren’t the enemy nor is eating them….just have to remember to have a balanced approach to it all.
However, I love my bacon and ribs to ever quit meat but, no issues with those who do go strict plant….you respect my way of eating and, I’ll respect yours.

@bdh420 That’s all the convincing I need.

@bdh420 Well said.
Im guessing the author never actually had a debate with a meat eater.

i eat meat, id eat a human or a dead fox if i was hungry enough.
But my main argument is, I do not care & can’t wait to be gone from this absurd horrific world. 10 more years tops given my diabetes, obesity and advanced fatty liver, none of which I’m doing anything about except popping some metformin.

What a crock of sh!t. A part of me wonders if this actually was written by a vegan or if it was written specifically by someone who knew merely slapping that title on it would almost certainly guarantee a sale to a… “specific” audience.
I’m content with bagging some deer every season - it feeds me, my family, my neighbors, and friends, with good, healthy, antibiotic- and hormone-free meat. And hippies can’t complain; by contributing to population control I’m ensuring the species continues to thrive - because they mate and mate and mate and, unchecked, will destroy an entire ecosystem resulting not just *their* extinction, but other animals that rely on it.
So fxck ‘em.

Just feels like more propaganda without much substance.
