The japanese have no more insight into managing their bank accounts and investments than anyone else. Pimping out your ethnicity for the ‘inscrutable eastern wisdom’ angle is kinda gross. And yes. I have actually listened to this book. None of it is novel.

The other subtitle of the book is “The Zen path to a happier and more prosperous life”.
This one seems to make more sense as, judging by a glance of the chapters on the TOC:

As for what toadmanga said, there does indeed not seem anything specifically Japanese about that approach.
After looking into some chapters, I’d say it’s a mix of some personal anecdotes, and some reasonable and helpful perspectives for a healthier relationship to it.
