– Yeah, it’s only “the left”. Kathy Griffin was hounded, fired, put on the no-fly-list, threatened, all for one bad taste joke.
The thing is the “right” demand apologies for things that mostly never happened at all (”Democrats want millions to die from Corona”) or deliberate taking out of context (almost every attack on AOC and the “gang”). And never apologise for anything a right winger does, even after he has been found guilty in a court — then they attack the judge and jury and get them pardoned. E.g., Joe Arpaio; Eddie Gallagher.

Humor is holding up a photo of a bloody head, that was considered by some as poor taste in humor, but by his lickspittle sycophants as a crime worthy of death.
There were no spoken, or print words suggesting anyone should hold up the real thing.

We should follow the patrician example of President Trump, and avoid partisan slurs & puerile, personalised, pejorative pronouncements. Most of the offensive, foregoing remarks are contumely² - 1 or 2 are even contumely³. The scrupulous avoidance of such calculated, algebraic aspersions is the only rigorous means of preventing Donald’s dreadfully direful 4th term.
