Thank you for this share, rmoor. This book has been on my list for a few years to read.
@caesar963, Shaara’s Killer Angels completely changed my view of the Civil War.

@Mikassa - I’m just sorry I didn’t read it years ago! It had a similar effect on Ken Burns, a reason why he made his superb series (with Shelby Foote contributing).
There’s also a brilliant series of lectures from the Modern Scholar (Great courses; Teaching Company) - presented by Professor Gary W. Gallagher - (TTC video, American Civil War).
There’s an audio only version available, also. (Apologies if you’re already familiar with these).
