is it history or is it subversive propaganda? You never know these days

FYI: Not propaganda. It is a work by one of the major scholars in the field of American history, esp regarding labor, class, and economic transformations, plus some comparative history & social science along these lines. He has been a major scholar for more than 30 years, as I was assigned a large anthology he edited back in a 1991 graduate seminar on American labor history (under Mel Dubofsky).
