I found the frequent religious references intrusive and off-putting. A mention of this in the tags would have been courteous.
Apart from that, it’s not a very good story — it reads as if it’s written by and for junior teens.
I expected far better from somebody who is described (both on the book cover and in the poster’s write-up) as a “bestselling author” — but maybe she’s just “bestselling” at church bazaars.

I was put off by the frequent and intrusive references to the characters’ religious beliefs. If you like characters babbling about how wonderful God is every twenty pages or so, then this book is for you. However, a warning about it in the tags or in the poster’s write-up would have been courteous.
Apart from that, it’s not a very good book — it reads as if it’s written by junior teens for junior teens, with breathless excitement taking the place of good plotting.
I expected far better from somebody who is described (both on the book cover and in the poster’s write-up) as a “bestselling author” — but maybe she’s just “bestselling” at church bazaars.
