James thought he would be just another adventurer in the world’s most anticipated dungeon delving VRMMORPG. But when he logs in, he soon finds out that he won’t be diving the dungeon – he will be creating it. Pretty awesome right?
At least that was what he thought when he boldly chose “Random” as his dungeon type….
Then he summoned his first mob. A fearsome, bloodthirsty demonic…. Chicken.
Still, Demonic Farm Animals are the least of his worries. The person who is supposed to be teaching him the ropes is a weirdly advanced AI pixie, who drinks too much and is overly fond of gambling. Oh, and some mysterious figure seems to be watching and judging his every move – so signing that NDA is feeling like less and less of a solid choice.
Either way, James is up for the challenge. Even if it means building a dungeon around kamikaze sheep, enraged cows, unhygienic pigs, and yes…Dickens.
At least his next randomly selected mob type can’t be worse…right?

So… the MC does nothing and the pixy is a bitch who makes every mistake possible but blames the mc aka the “male” because women can’t be wrong even when they are blatantly wrong and the MC as a man has to take it because it might hurt the female’s feelings…. If you like beta male books then you will like this. OTHER than that. if you don’t bring up everything that the pixy is/does, go back to “the mc does nothing” yeah so nothing. The MC uses the cookie cutter dungeon mobs to just put “challenges” to the divers of his dungeon. He is not creative at all. It is like reading a text book on a game, or a detailed manual of a game, boring. This is the classic fail of listening to someone else play a video game while you watch/hear about their game play.
There is no real plot other than, “you are a dungeon so you must put monsters here”. No real villain or “thing you need to do” because of life or anything for the majority of the book. Then… for the last 2-3 hours of the book there is a small hint of it but it doesn’t actually matter because plot armor. Also! you know you totally want to fall in love with your AI pixy!!!! Because real women won’t give you the time of day because of the beta male bs you are and can’t even talk to actual people and you are retard so you need a Wifu (It is a Japanese term of a 2d wife [Yeah you read that right, it is when they want to marry cartoon charterers]) and the beta mail want to marry his pillow with a face on it instead of real life anything. Don’t bother with this one. It isn’t even worth it even when it is free.

@mrcollins55: Sorry to hear you feel like that about the book and, we can voice our opinions about it as much as you like. However, since I just uploaded this less than 5 hrs ago and, the book is much longer, maybe it’s not the remastered version you got to read/listen to? Either which way, it’s cool and, you did provide a new bit of trivia in the Japanese thing you said….never knew that (learn a bit from anything is my motto). Hope everyone else likes the book. I probably would have passed on this book based on the teaser description, but @mrcollins55 excoriating review made me decide to get it just to see how it compares. Cheers!

@bd2232 Thanks bd! Appreciate the upload no matter how the book turns out! Hope NB is doing better than NS with cases, ours is jumping higher every day. I made it two hours in before the AI character go too annoying. Basically, if you have a submissive kink you’ll probably like this book. Its a fun-ish slice of life story, other than the power dynamic between the MC and his AI companion. Since I’m not a submissive this is not for me, this also isn’t actually how dom/sub relationships work, its more like how a person who likes the idea and has never been in a relationship of that kind might write one. Maybe this is for you if any of that is appealing or fantasies of how relationships work not lining up with how actual relationships work doesn’t irritate you like it does me. Maybe it gets better, I only made it 2 hours in before I got too annoyed to continue.
Encode quality and audio are good so this book gets five stars since that what we’re supposed to be reviewing. Just not my cup of tea but thanks to OP for sharing.

Uhhhh…dang it. I really like LitRPG and Travis Baldree really is a pretty good narrator, but I think I’ll pass. Thanks for the upload, bd2232, but I gotta stay safe and that includes what I put into my head.

Back for that update I promised. I think these guys are weirdly hung up on the dungeon-core dungeon-fairy relationship. They do have a relationship, and yeah it’s not realistic, but it’s more a side comedy than the focus of the book. It’s also a common trope in dungeon-core novels.
As for the book itself, you should know that it is heavy Game-Lit, meaning: The story is actually about someone who is playing a video game and trying to make a living doing it. I personally prefer other-world type progression fantasy; but if you can convince yourself the stakes are meaningful, it’s actually a fairly standard book. It’s not the best or worst, but might scratch an itch if you’re into dungeon-core novels.
If you can get over it being Game-Lit, it’s probably even better than average. Ultimately, I think that’s the criticism these other reviewers are making. They try to look for the plot and the stakes, and all they can find is loss of ability to play the game and the only reason that’s meaningful is the dungeon-core dungeon-fairy relationship. I’m actually not fond of Game-Lit for this exact reason, but until LitRPG splits into separate genres we’re stuck with it.

I don’t know what is up with everyone in the comments, maybe they read a different version than I did. However there is nothing wrong with the pixie, she is just very sassy and flirty and there is nothing wrong with that. I encourage everyone to take a chance, ignore all the haters in the comments, and listen to this book, you won’t be disappointed.
