Akkad or Agade supposedly disappeared as well, and the name Megiddo, is actually same name. a or ma, both water signs from cuneiform. gade, kade, all means to travel around it. so taking a literal meaning both Megiddo and Akkad, “water travels around it”, which imo means an island. so i doubt that is the genuine site of Megiddo, which is likely the same site of that of the supposedly lost “Akkad”. How one loses a very important ancient capital like Akkad is rather curious.
on those transliterations it important to remember those toponyms were expressed with consonants only. so whether one adds an a or e between M and G is neither here nor there. the consonants are the identifier.
