Criminal Hate Theory is more like it.

It’s never too late to look at yourself in the mirror and admit to your deeply seated unconscious racist tendencies. I never would have believed I would have the courage to acknowledge and confess to this, but ever since I started listening to Kpop I have come to the realization that I am racist towards non-Koreans (excluding foreigners signed by SM Town and JYP of course).

All Critical Theory (Critical Race Theory, Critical Gender Theory, Critical Class Theory, etc) is a recognition that the social structures and institutions human beings construct can be sometimes be inherently bigoted, and a critical investigation of those structures towards reforming them. For example, under US law, women were originally not allowed to vote. People had to fight to reform the structure of the institution to change that. Another example: The US once regarded black people as only 3/5ths of a human being. That was codified in law - in other words, the structure of the institution itself. I’m confident that everybody reading this would regard that as evil, and in need of reform.
Modern Critical Theory, which by the way is a university level concept NOT taught at school, studies how institutions can be biased in more subtle ways, and how to go about reforming those institutions. It has NOTHING to do with individual bigotry - on the contrary, in some ways it absolves individuals of bigotry, showing instead how institutions can entrench bigotry despite an individual’s best intentions.
So please, to the folks freaking out about CRT at schools - all that is being taught at school is History. History is not just about dates and events. It is about understanding humanity’s past so we don’t repeat the mistakes our ancestors made. It is not meant to shame people in the present. All it is trying to achieve is cultivating an understanding in students of the realities of our past, an empathy for the experiences of other people, and a sense of how to do better in the future.

@valkyrie_odinsdottir Well done on giving naysayers the benefit of the doubt regarding the discernment of evil leveraging tactics. It’s more than many do. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t sell me a used car not conceding many of the academics getting the bandwidth (from either direction) have a “We come in peace. Shoot to Kill” motto. I don’t think they help the genuinely well intentioned people working on issues reconciling the group with the other when they are imagined to be the ones benignly reporting history.

Caesar will affirm I really do hate non-Koreans who haven’t learned how to do aegyo, so without having parsed all of apollo60’s sometimes a tad ungenerous musings I do have to say I have noted along the way some contrary evidence which would make me think he is not all out for hurting non whites. Marxism IS oppression (and defining people by race IS racism, like from those government forms that ask what race you are). “Race” used to (in the 1800’s) just mean nation, but not it groups by skin-color to prop up the fairy tale for grown-ups called Evolution (imagine hunting LIVING people in Australia to use their skulls for museum displays!).
