The really stubborn things Admiral are IDEAS! Politics is a fabric of ideas. It is not, like science, a body of general propositions expressing discovered facts. The usual sign of confusion in our basic ideas on any topic is the persistence of rival doctrines, all many times refuted yet not abandoned. In a system of thought that is fundamentally clear, even if not entirely so, new theories usually make old ones obsolete. In a field where the basic concepts are not clear, such as politics, conflicting outlooks and terminologies continue side by side , to recruit adherents.

I 100% support everyone to not hide their beliefs due to fear.
Since the Trump presidency a lot of people have discovered the true feelings of some of their friends, neighbors, and co workers.
Hopefully they’ll shine with their true colors.

I hope that the US will be able to recover from this period. This kind of book is divisive, pitting people against each other. The writer is within his rights to write it but he, himself, is perpetuating fear by authoring it. He’s part of the problem.

Shapiro is a “nevertrumper” and will ALWAYS put Israel first, just like David Brooks, and see America as a place where they make their money.
Shapiro was spoonfed every position he found himself in due due family connection, the tribe and nepotism.
If they left is afraid and angry at Shapiro, they have no idea what the next step of the culture wars will bring - until it’s hanging around their necks in town squares all across the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Indeed. I consider myself to be on the left (at least on the US spectrum). Nonetheless, it’s clear that on ‘our’ side there are more than a few who viciously attack and seek to shutdown anyone who strays to far from what they consider orthodoxy. One has only to do a bit of cursory research on any social media site to see this in action. Now, it’s hardly a ‘left’ thing. It’s a human thing. Stray from group X’s party line and group X’s zealots will let you have it. Even if you consider Shapiro to be biased (and he is, as all we all), this is probably worth a gander at least to understand where the right is coming from. (Information that you may use for Good or Ill!)
