Just finished listening to this book and the year wasnt that special. A few good movies but none that blew my mind! Agree with 1994 and gblwang!

1994 also had Quiz Show & the Madness of King George.
Truly, The Phantom Menace is a massive drag factor. Almost sucking the energy out of the entire year. It contaminates the earlier movies by association, even making “Empire” look like a fluke.
Not to sound like Old Father Time, but 1939 was a remarkable year for film. Too many to list!
