The Black Jewels is a series of dark fantasy novels and short stories by Anne Bishop. Originally the first three books were published separately and then all three put together to make a trilogy and published in that form. Then further books and short stories were and are published. An excellent fantasy world of born witches in a somewhat matrilineal society along old pagan Celtic lines. These books tell intricately woven stories through the eyes of different individuals.
