My father is the reigning Arcane Master of Fire. Since he’s a prominent figure in both politics and magic, it only makes sense that my family is a target.

Still, I never expected to encounter a Rebel leader in person. I never imagined I’d be drawn to him, either. And I most definitely never dreamed I could lose my heart to them all.

Amid all the chaos, I’ve somehow gone from a lonely, cloistered existence as Aurora to a thrilling new life as Aura. That includes a romantic involvement - not just with one fierce Rebel, but two. Bonding with the Rebels connects us all in a profound way that stretches far beyond the physical. Rain and Zephyr - Water and Air - are closer now than ever. Their touch can call down a mighty storm…or call up some seriously complicated feelings.

Ember is suffering in silence to see me with Rain and Zeph instead of him. Not Sterling, though - he’s intrigued.

I have no idea how to navigate the tangle of our relationships. The Arcane powers we stole are just as confusing. They didn’t come with a user’s manual, and just when we think we’ve got a handle on our talents… We realize we’re not invincible after all.

Sterling: Rebel Earth Master

I’ve never been particularly proud of the stinking cesspool known as Corona, but for better or worse, it’s still my home. And as a newly minted Earth Master, I take particular umbrage when it starts to collapse.

Sinkholes are hardly breaking news, but now that the original Masters’ proteges have unseated them, huge swaths of the city are falling in. Is it ineptitude? Neglect? Or some elaborate plan to lure us into a trap and harvest our magical energy? Whatever the reason, we can’t just stand by and watch the the city cave in.

The public is still blind to the Masters’ corruption, and those glorified frat boys can wield a stunning amount of magic without even breaking a sweat. But the Rebels share a special bond - when we combine our powers, it’s awesome. And when we combine our naughty parts, it’s even better.

If only all five of us could get on board with the arrangement.

Zephyr and I have set aside our differences, and that kinkhound Rain is in his glory. But whenever things heat up, Ember makes a flimsy excuse to leave the rest of us to our own devices. We need everyone on board, even our long-suffering Fire Master…before anyone else gets buried.
