Not because there haven’t been such killings, but simply because we never got as much opportunity to study Communist leaders.

Nazi’s were pure evil. Yet, truly, communism’s evil was equally pure and orders of magnitude greater. We don’t even know how may tens or hundreds of millions have been slaughtered in the various revolutions and the ongoing despotism required to force people into accepting the absolute rule of the state.

Thanks for restoring a little sanity, rmoor. And yes, of course there’s a murderous continuum between fascism and Marxism. Marxist regimes merely had the scope to kill many millions more. Had the fascists been in power to the same extent, they certainly wouldn’t have stopped killing.
Any political ideologies which seek to empower the State at the expense of the individual - indeed seeks to crush the individual - share the same contours of destructive evil. The factual historical record demonstrates this to a nauseating degree. However, p’haps one book at a time.
